I think it's clear that Robin Ventura will be relieved shortly after the season. Who will be the next manager? I still say Sandy Alomar.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 12:05 AM) I'm all about the military. If ONE military man or woman is upset then I am upset. I respect the hell outta the military. Colin is going about this in a very wrong way. This is absurd. It's been rehashed over and over again though and you still don't get it. Our military does what they do so that people like Collin Kaepernick have the right to protest the way that they choose. I wish people were as upset about the man that was just killed in Tulsa as they are about what Kaepernick and some athletes are doing.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) I've been thinking about this. All these bad decisions by police are leading up to something major. The police need to cut this s*** out. Incident after incident is just asking for some kind of revolutionary violent protest, the likes of which we've probably never seen. There needs to be a national symposium with Obama demanding all police forces (yes every single police force in the USA) send representatives of all ethnic groups and get them together NOW. Hold it at a racetrack that seats 150,000 or more people. If we're talking 350,000 people then have two sessions or something. You'd probably need 3 sessions.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 11:42 AM) Which of those arguments do you disagree with? People should still go to every game and give that family more money for a poor product? People should continue to pretend like Ditka and the 85 Bears were the recent past? They shouldn't blow the entire franchise up and start from square one? I mean, to some extent they are on this road already, I realize that. I'm saying pick up the pace and really blow it up. There's no reason to have Jeffrey on the roster. It's a valuable chip. Get something for him before it's too late. Jeffery cannot be traded while he's on the franchise tag. They should still re-sign Jeffery. Letting 26 year old #1 WRs walk out the door is bad business.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 11:25 AM) I'm so tired of this argument. s*** play calling or not, s*** system or not, Cutler makes some of the dumbest decisions of any QB in the league. Last night was a perfect example. Zero reason to try to throw over a line backer to hit a guy that was barely open, but f*** it, i'm Jay Cutler. I hope to God he's played his last game in a Bears uniform. Complete waste of 8 years. Throw out another 10 project qb's, the results would be the same - s***ty offense resulting in losses. Trade anyone with trade value. Get 8th round draft picks if you must. Throw out a garbage practice squad team. Blow this piece of s*** franchise up. People will be clamoring for Cutler to return in a few short weeks.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 11:16 AM) How did this steaming pile of crap get 4 prime time games this season? 9.5 million people in the Chicago metro area

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 10:01 AM) Ian Rapoport @RapSheet · 8m8 minutes ago The #Bears are preparing for a lengthy absence for QB Jay Cutler, source said. Now it's a matter of how to fix (surgery or not) his thumb. And the Bears are effectively in the #1 pick discussion.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 10:42 PM) My positions aren't those of a troll. Once again, support for greg's position on a subject . ... http://ijr.com/2016/09/695609-marine-colon..._term=ijamerica Fine. You disagree with what he's doing and can't understand it. Fantastic. Nobody cares. People have clearly argued both sides in this thread and nobody's opinion is changing. Why it needs to be rehashed by quotes with some other famous person's opinion makes no sense to me.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 08:46 AM) So the wife and kid and I flew into Chicago last Wednesday and after making a few quick stops, drove up to Stanwood, MI to meet my wife's best friend and husband. From there, we headed up to Charlevoix, MI where we stayed in a cabin about a mile from Lake Michigan with several of our best friends and their spouses from our childhood. Spent 3 great nights there with incredible views from the deck and plenty of good food and booze. Drove back to Chicago on Sunday and stayed with my brother and his family Sunday night. My son got to play with his cousins for the first time and had a blast. Yesterday, I took her on a tour of my childhood, showing her the 3 houses I lived in through high school as well as some of my schools, etc. Had lunch in Hinsdale, where I lived between the ages of 12-18. Was blown away by what the town has become. Headed back to New Lenox to have pizza and watch the Bears with my best friend and his parents, to meet my son's namesakes (he is named after my best friend and his dad). Overall, had a great week. Flying back to Vegas today, which I'm not looking forward to. But it was great for my wife and kid to spend some time with the folks I grew up with and to see all the places I spent the first half of my life in. Did you go to the New Lenox Beggars?

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 09:18 AM) Reddick wouldn't require a draft pick. Getting him is better than not doing anything at all if they don't want to rebuild. Yeah Reddick would be fine I guess. I think they are rebuilding though.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 09:06 AM) both Houston and Goldman looked to have similar injuries, their knees were on the ground and they were basically knocked flat on their backs pinning their leg underneath Goldman is a high ankle sprain apparently. Houston looks to be done for season though.
-
So apparently Cutler played through torn ligaments in his thumb that first happened in the Texans game. And ESPN dopes made the Philadelphia Eagles pre game show all about how Cutler wasn't tough. People are idiots. Cutler was 10/13 prior to reaggravating the thumb injury. That doesn't fit the narrative of everything always being his fault though.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 08:09 AM) Agree, but going for it and not signing one of these guys would simply be another half-ass offseason. Forfeiting a draft pick to sign a free agent is worst case scenario this offseason. The White Sox can not give up draft picks.
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 08:34 AM) That might of been Houston's last snap as a Bear. That's the same knee he tore his ACL on two years ago and it's likely he tore it again. I think it's the other knee actually but yeah they'll cut him this offseason.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 07:29 AM) Not if they're terrible? Well yeah. If Cutler is out for an extended period, I don't see a win on the schedule in any of those games. If Cutler is somehow back though, they won't be bad enough to pick top 3 for one of the QB's. Would you definitely take Deshaun Watson over a sure thing defensive stud anyway though? I'm not sure I would. Kizer is going #1.
-
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 09:53 PM) Cespedes, Encarnacion, Bautista, Trumbo, Fowler, Desmond, & Reddick. Reddick is probably the only one that won't cost a draft pick to sign. Pass.
-
QUOTE (SpankyEaton @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 11:20 PM) That plan of action does sound good though...a rookie QB and depth. That and maybe a Jeffery departure to really rebuild may be what they need. Look at the roster turnover the Eagles had as an example. The Eagles really aren't very good though. They just traded 6 picks for their franchise QB which is the cost. If the Bears want a Franchise QB, mortgaging a bunch of picks is what they have to do.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 12:38 PM) I agree with you. Pitching in pressureless meaningless games just isn't important and I'm not giving the Cy Young or MVP to someone who racked up the stats on a garbage team (unless they are that much better than the competition). So Trout shouldn't be the MVP?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) I still love Jesse after watching that. I mean I think Colin is being disrespectful to the military with his stance of kneeling during the anthem when everybody else pretty much is being respectful. Jesse says he fought to give guys like Colin the right to protest. That's fine. I can accept that. I still think the way he's protesting is bulls*** but I can accept Jesse's points. Jesse did say, "Whether I agree with what he did is irrelevant." Yeah, I guess so. Like I said, Colin pretty much made a mockery of doing the anthem at sporting events. And the Gabby Douglas thing was so silly that people were mad at her. So as of today I think we should get rid of the anthem at sporting events. Because of Colin, it's kinda finally jumped the shark. Our country is way too divided to play a "National Anthem" at sporting events. Just kill it now and let us all continue to hate each other. That's what we seem to do best as a country. LOL Keith said this same thing to you last week and you completely ignored the post.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 08:03 PM) What channel? CBS? It's like on Investigative Discovery Channel. If you have Comcast, go to search and type in Jonbenet Ramsey. It will pop up. It's 3 hour long episodes.

QUOTE (SpankyEaton @ Sep 16, 2016 -> 07:46 AM) Let me ask you all this. Is there, or should there be "Chicago fans," where people are loyal to one team but cheer for the other in the postseason if their team is not there? And, if your wife/girlfriend/family/friends are Cubs fans or have ties to being Cubs fans, how would you approach what is about to happen this October? My approach right now is to just not address it and say they are having a hell of the season. I wish them well but I am not actively cheering for or against them. I really can't see anyone but the Nationals having a legit shot beating the Northsiders in the postseason. I don't root for or against them. A lot of people I know would be really happy if they won a world series. I don't watch Cubs games. The playoffs are a b**** though and variance trumps everything. Any of the 8 teams could win the whole thing because it's just so damn random.

Mark: There will likely be 3 White Sox players from the June draft on your next 100, right? Klaw: Wrong. Nate: Keith, I was wondering if you have had any interaction with Nick Hostetler. What is your opinion of him as a scout? Do you foresee better scouting/drafting with Nick and Rick in charge of the operation for the White Sox? Klaw: I have and I think his first draft went extremely well. I thought I saw some subtle shifts in philosophy that already seem to be paying off Jesse: Does Alec Hansen have a ceiling of a # 1? Klaw: I think a #2. I didn’t think any college arm in this draft had #1 potential. Mark: Was Keon Barnum much of a prospect heading into his draft year? Wth happened to this guy?? Klaw: He was not a top 100 prospect for me. I saw a poor 1b with no plan at the plate.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) I saw the A&E special and the Dateline last weekend. I think the mom did it for some reason. Whether the dad knew and has kept it quiet, no clue, but I'm pretty convinced Patsy did it. Yeah I feel the same way. The brother is so weird though. I think he's doing another Dr. Phil interview soon.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 10:20 AM) I forgot all about this, but I want to see it. Is it worth it? Yeah it's pretty good and they are only an hour each. Can knock it out in one night if you have the time.

I've been watching the 3 part series on Jonbenet Ramsey. It's pretty well done. I was 11 years old when that happened and I remember it but forgot many of the details.
