  1. I’d need Grissom, Smith-Shawver, Waldrep and another piece
  2. Seems like Cease and Eloy are both gone. Juts not sure when. I don't love the idea of Atlanta either but Anthopolous is aggressive. They'll take the best package they get offered. Atlanta is publicly seen as the favorite right now.
  3. Nightengale called the Braves the favorites for Cease in that same article
  4. I think they traded most of the remainder to the Dodgers. I'd have to look.
  5. Juan Soto is a Boras guy. He's not extending with anyone
  6. Soto isn't signing an extension anywhere. You're basically trading for one year of Soto plus the draft compensation you'll get when he leaves as a free agent.
  7. I'm under the impression that the White Sox front office is split on Rodriguez. I've heard that they aren't the frontrunners. He likely signs with a team that is convinced he can start.
  8. Here's our Rule 5 Preview: https://www.futuresox.net/2023/12/01/2023-chicago-white-sox-rule-5-draft-preview/
  9. I expect Lee to get the bulk of the time. Need to find out what he is.
  10. Yeah I definitely understand this sentiment but the guys the White Sox would get are absolutely blocked in Baltimore.
  11. Which probably makes sense unless they get what they want from Baltimore, Arizona, Cincy etc. Something to note: JP Morosi has an obvious connection to Chris Getz from their Michigan backgrounds. He's broken some Getz news in past etc. Sox wanted that report out there yesterday for whatever reason.
  12. There is but with Cowser’s bat, it plays more in CF than in a corner. I’d prefer the power profile That’s interesting. Cowser had 77 PA in majors though. Totally meaningless sample This is true. I just think they need Kjerstad’s profile more
  13. Why would his stock be down? I think I’d prefer Kjerstad anyway. Cowser’s value comes as a CF imo and he won’t be playing it in Chicago
  14. I don’t think they’re getting Cowser. If they keep insisting on that, it’ll probably be a different team.
  15. I’m not worried about Gonzalez defensively My point was that it’s premature to write off shortstop. I’ve seen many on this board mention it as well as podcasts etc. He’s playing shortstop. He might end up at 3B eventually but I’d be stunned if he’s not a shortstop to start.
  16. I've heard it in lots of places that Montgomery ends up at 3B over past few days. He might ultimately but he'll be a big league shortstop to start his career.
  17. And he has two years of control, won't re-sign here and the White Sox will be bad next year. They'll get a lot in return. They need to move him though.
  18. Braves were in deep on Gray and Nola. Their system isn't good but it's pitching heavy. I doubt they could pull this off without including AJ Smith Shawver. Grissom doesn't do much for me. Waldrep, Murphy and Schwellenbach are all really interesting young arms but they need position players in return for Cease imo. I'd probably need something like: Aj Smith Shawver, Spencer Schwellenbach, Owen Murphy and Luis Guanipa to deal with the Braves.
  19. I highly doubt he extends with anyone. You don't hire Scott Boras to sign a below market extension
  20. Ethan Holliday might be the first pick in 2025. That’s why I wrote it like that. He might be better than Jackson.
  21. That’s insane. Are you thinking he’ll be making the decision going forward under this structure?
  22. Do you think Jacob Gonzalez was Mike Shirley’s decision?
  23. I wrote about this here: https://www.futuresox.net/2023/11/16/could-mlb-draft-lottery-present-conflict-for-white-sox/
  24. It doesn’t. If the White Sox have a top 6 pick this year and they finish with the worst record in baseball next year, they’ll have the 11th pick in round one in 2025 and the #1 pick in every other round
