  1. This is embarrassing but we knew much of this info already. What an absolute disaster of an organization. Great job by Ken Rosenthal and Britt Ghiroli: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5773947/2024/09/19/white-sox-failure-worst-season-history/
  2. One misconception that I’ve seen is about the pro scouts. These guys are scouting minor league players to acquire via trade. They recommend the trade returns. So the people who hate Chris Getz’s trades should be thrilled that these guys are fired.
  3. I pretty much agree with both of these posts. Well said, Josh.
  4. That has been said. I have no idea how true it is. I also know that Kenny preferred the older Cubans because they could help the big league club quickly. The whole operation is a mess and it’ll take years to fix.
  5. Again, I don’t think this part is true Those signings are basically done. I never said it should make anyone feel confident I mean, it is what it is. Deals have been agreed upon for years at this point.
  6. I’m pretty sure Getz would’ve canned Paddy last year if he weren’t under contract. Also, this won’t really affect January 15, 2025 very much. These agreements have been in place for awhile.
  7. No. If I worked for them, I’d probably be much more pessimistic. Also though, what did I say that wasn’t true?
  8. My advice would be to stop following the team. Being this miserable intentionally makes no sense to me. For sure. He’s pitching in the AFL
  9. I think Grant Taylor is an ace potentially. Mason Adams could be a mid-rotation guy and then lots of #4's but that's still extremely valuable. Also, I'm not just gonna brush off having Schultz and Smith potentially as early as mid-season 2025.
  10. Yeah they're pitchers. They all break at some point. That's factored in.
  11. I don't believe that there's massive uncertainty with Schultz and Smith.
  12. I don't need to blame anyone. They need a hitting department. Alan Zinter was hired as minor league hitting coordinator and the coaches have focused on approach which I think is a good thing. They likely need a lot more employees though. An organizational director of hitting with everything flowing down makes sense to me and I think it's coming. It's been a rough year. The roving instructors made really meaningful changes with George Wolkow and Bryan Ramos has noted the same recently as well. They've drafted and acquired players with on base ability who have controlled the strike zone. I like the strategy. It just takes a long time.
  13. We released our top 30 list this week. Read it here: https://www.futuresox.net/2024/08/27/futuresox-2024-mid-white-sox-t30/
  14. Is this a serious question? They have a ton of pitching depth and some high end options. Their pitching infrastructure is awesome right now and it's the reason why the White Sox have an upper third system. I don't give Janish the credit for the pitching either but I also wouldn't blame the lack of hitting development on him either.
  15. Does Paul Janish get any credit for the pitching development?
  16. I believe Chuck asked a question about him being fun and entertaining etc
  17. Mt. Carmel recruits all over the Chicagoland area from the south burbs and the city itself. Loyola gets every catholic school on the north shore. They're both powerhouses but they should be because they recruit from all over. It's why it was extra sweet when we beat Loyola at Loyola in 2021 in the semis on our way to a state title.
  18. The trend is that it's four dudes with premium upside and one low upside college bat. And please enlighten me on which ones he didn't push for? I don't know that Hagen Smith was his preferred path. He was the scouting director but the scouting director has bosses.
  19. I'm not talking about personnel moves. Manager from the outside, new international director and new facility in the DR plus a director of hitting. If he does those things, I'll feel much better.
  20. I coach at Lockport. Looking forward to getting going.
  21. This isn't true from what I understand but also, which one of these guys is unlike the others? Garrett Crochet, Colson Montgomery, Noah Schultz, Jacob Gonzalez and Hagen Smith. Jeremy Haber
  22. I'm not sure that that is the only thing he's done right. It hasn't gone well so far. I need more time though. I need to see what moves are made on the front office side this offseason. It's a really important winter. I run the White Sox prospect blog, FutureSox. I really don't get very much access and it doesn't influence my coverage. I criticize the team all the time when I feel it's warranted.
  23. The pitching infrastructure and development is really good and they’re building a new Dominican Academy. That’s about all I got right now though.
  24. This thread is humorous to me. Chris Getz is in year one. I can’t argue that he’s good but he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. What a massive waste of time.
  25. The person mostly responsible for Jacob Gonzalez is no longer in the org. I’d bet on the pick having significantly more upside than that.
