I think they trade him this winter
-
Yes. Especially after the AFL

We didn't rank Chapelli but I should've included him in just missed. His numbers are better than they were. Oops.

I'm not buying any of it. There's no way this club is competing next year. They'll trade Cease and TA this winter and possibly even Eloy imo. They could be solid by 2025 if they do it right though.
-
Sure you can. SoxMachine entered into a partnership with us via a lease agreement. We spent 18 months together working collectively. Our original agreement has expired and they decided not to continue the partnership. We are both now back to being independent entities.

Oh yeah this is true. My mistake. It was essentially a one year, $12 million deal. The White Sox will decline.
-
It's very disheartening because of the insular nature and how Jerry Reinsdorf is afraid of outside perspective. Getz could be good at the job though and it's an improvement solely due to the fact that there's a single decision maker instead of KW/Hahn where none of us knew who was doing what. Getz is going to bring in multiple outside hires. Changes to scouting, PD, etc are coming. I don't know that it'll work and he's definitely not the best candidate but I don't think he's destined to fail. There are lots of solid prospects in the high minors, assets to trade in the big leagues and money to spend. They'll be bad next year but there's a real chance to win again in 2025. I thought Getz was fine yesterday and on both radio stations. Reinsdorf was a disaster but at least he talked.

If Clevinger opts in, he gets $8 million. If he opts out, he’ll get $4 million and can easily make $4 million more. The White Sox likely decline as well. He won’t be on the 2024 White Sox
-
It’s the latter but it’s still a good idea. Model teams have gotten rid of scouts. Boots on the ground scouting still matters. It’s one reason why their drafts have been solid of late. Hiring more scouts is a good thing.
-
Burger was at the alternate site. I saw him in person multiple times. It’s when I was convinced that he’d play in the big leagues There are others in the system thinking similarly. Last few drafts have been solid and Andy Barkett is good at his job.

They did bring in Getz from the outside. The minor league pitching and hitting coordinator were from the outside. Marco Paddy was too.

I have an issue with Chris Getz's title. Giving him the GM title as the lead decision maker is a mistake imo. It doesn't let you poach from other orgs. If he were given the title of President of Baseball OPS, you could then hire a GM from somewhere and inflate the title to get another smart person in the org. Carter Hawkins isn't in charge of baseball ops but the Cubs were able to take him by elevating his title essentially. It's happened all over the sport.

The press conference is today at 3:30

Nah Danny is a good dude. We may or may not have been talking about this story though recently.
-
Sox likely to decline their end as well
-
Clevinger will absolutely decline his side of the option and become a free agent. He gets $4 million with the buyout anyway. There's no reason to lock in for $8 million. He can get more than $4 million on the market. Have to be on a roster by 9/1 for playoff eligibility
-
This isn’t correct. Clevinger gets $4 million regardless.
-
Of course he isn’t picking it up. It’s a $4 million difference only
-
If Getz gets this job as expected, I have no idea what his title will be but he'll be the head of baseball operations.
