QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/12591623/top-25-players ESPN Top 100 players list Quintana, Ramirez, Eaton, Cabrera, LaRoche on the outside looking in. For some reason, Robertson's listed on the Tigers. Quintana is better than Samardzija

QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) I mean from what I saw last game his fastball was really the culprit. His breaking pitches looked fine. Well his sinker isn't sinking in Arizona. I wouldn't worry about it.

QUOTE (Sockin @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:01 PM) Are we going with 4 starters until Chris comes back? Yes. Sounds like he'll pitch April 12th. Starters will be on regular rest. -

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 01:44 PM) Well, Sanchez will be easy to send down when Sale/Petricka comes off the DL. Other than that, I don't get it. So they will go with 7 in the pen and 4 starters? Is it more likely that they will send Drabek to the minors now? If the 7 are: Robertson, Duke, Putnam, Guerra, Jennings, Albers, and Drabek, one will be discarded in a week for Petricka. I wonder if they will just keep Cleto and DFA him when Petricka is ready and try to slide Drabek to AAA? -
QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 10:48 AM) i am itching and dying to debate the BPA idea, but i will wait a couple more weeks. i would really like to see how the mock draft's will list the prospects. Debate what though? You should always go BPA in the baseball draft. In the first round specifically, you should never worry about a position.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 11:34 AM) Looks like Bernstein is taking a vacation. Not sure if it was already planned or suggested by CBS, but it would be a good cover for a possible suspension. Is Dan off today? He worked yesterday.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 07:08 AM) Didn't even think of that angle. But that is an interesting point. Would it really work that way? Don't you have to "accept" tickets for the game with this app? So if you don't "accept," I am not sure you count as attending. But I really have no idea. And they get to sell concessions. I've always said that they should give away tickets because people will buy stuff at the park.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 05:55 PM) Literally yesterday he said contact was "in the next 2 weeks". I saw nothing about it happening today anywhere. Rose took contact today according to every Bulls writer on twitter

QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 03:54 PM) Sox fans, if he's available at 8 (which I think he absolutely will be) this June do you take him? I know I wouldn't, but I'm just curious, I saw fans of deeper systems hoping he falls Absolutely.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) They're building a brand new arena in the middle of the third largest city in the country with plenty of talent (enough to get a decent high-major recruit every now and then), have shown they'll pay an obscene amount to an atrocious coach, and actually had some young, hungry, bigger-name up-and-coming head coaches that, who the f*** even knows why, were actually showing interest and interviewing and could breathe some life to a once-proud program...and ponsetto pulls this s***?! An old f***ing retread that absolutely NOBODY wants nor was even looking to hire?! f*** ponsetto. f*** this s***. I'm done. Two of those coaches you speak of did turn the job down though. It's not like they didn't offer Hurley and Drew. -
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 07:05 PM) Rodon still could start the season with the Sox and get sent down once Petricka is feeling better. How would that effect his service time ? It wouldn't but why bother. Rodon should not pitch out of the bullpen. Go to Charlotte and get starts in immediately.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) Lol wow. Depaul job is a lot worse than I thought. The facilities are terrible. The arena isn't on campus. There are many issues. What other D1 school kicks the basketball team out at a certain time so that the Girls Volleyball team can practice. They should have fired Lenti-Ponsetto and gone from there. Oh well. -

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Mar 28, 2015 -> 10:24 PM) I think you're missing the point. Anthony was arrested for soliciting a prostitute and the decision was made shortly after that Anthony would not call the Final 4. Therefore, by "they" I meant the NCAA. Dave Leitao is returning to DePaul as Head Coach. Bobby Hurley and Bryce Drew both turned it down. -
I actually think the opening day pitching staff could look like this: Samardzija, Quintana, Danks, Noesi, Robertson, Duke, Petricka, Guerra, Jennings, Putnam, Albers, and Drabek. I think Cleto and Surkamp somehow get moved from the 40 man to add Soto and Micah Johnson.
-
So it sounds like the White Sox will be using Drabek out of the bullpen? He could make the team in that case.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 12:31 PM) Possibly start at WS, does well then AA. I actually think Montas and Danish could both start in Birmingham with Hawkins and Anderson there as well.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 01:44 AM) Tommy John isn't the death sentence that people made it out to be (My mother had actually had it done in late February.), unfortunately it's a common procedure now and some pitchers get better after having it. It sounds like you forgot that Aiken was the consensus top player in last year's draft, even when news broke out about him having a naturally smaller UCL, teams came out and said that they still would have taken him number one without hesitation. There was even a possibility that Aiken would have become a free agent, I'm sure that 29 GMs would be comping at the bit too get him into their system. I also disagree with what you said about the best player available being a guy with the highest ceiling and healthy. In regards to what we know about TJ now in regards to pitching prospects that is a completely arcane way of looking at things. If you had to pick between Clayton Kershaw (Who's going to sit out a year to recover from TJ) or Sonny Gray to build your team around, you're picking Clayton Kershaw even with the TJ and 1 year recovery time. And since we're talking about another prospect in Aiken, lets bring up guys like Giolito and Hoffman. In terms of accomplishments, Giolito is universally thought of as the best pitching prospect in all of baseball. And just look at all the pitchers that have had TJ and came back stronger than before. You also forgot that Jeff Hoffman was a highly successful college pitcher. College being the key word there, you know that college players are automatically more seasoned then their high school counterparts, right? Jeff Hoffman was already polished as a pitcher, any time he spent in the minors would just be fine tuning and more seasoning. He exexpected to mske his mlb debut next year as a 23 year old. If you're the Sox and draft Aiken but you're unwilling to sign him just because he won't sign under slot then you’re insane. Keep in mind the sox do not have picks in the second and third round this year. Yes, you do get the #9 pick in next year's draft automatically but a draft without a first, second and third rouround picks would be a huge blow to the farm. Thats my two cents. This is right on, Josh. Good point.

Can we stop talking about Rodon making the club? Not happening.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 08:33 AM) I think it was Johnson's job to lose, and he really hasn't done anything to lose it. Sanchez has nice offensive numbers but according to BR, he is facing AA quality pitching while Micah is facing AAA. I think they ket Micah fail in Chicago before turning it over to Sanchez. I completely agree with Dick here. The White Sox want MIcah Johnson to be their 2B. He will be.

Charlotte rotation could actually be pretty fun with Rodon, Drabek, Beck, and Johnson.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 09:26 PM) Yes, we put these on stub hub if they don't sell to friends/family or whatever. If they are still listed they are still for sale, and yes I can sell two potentially. I'm interested in the Pirates game. I PMed you. -
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 06:46 PM) Cool info and boy what a star-crossed trio of arms that trade would have involved. Sorry. Separate deals. Mentioned in talks for Floyd. Also in talks for Danks prior to extension.
