QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 09:25 AM) Aaron Leming @AaronLemingNFL 19m19 minutes ago Separate sources have confirmed that WR Brandon Marshall will be traded to the #Jets for a "late round" pick on Tuesday. #Bears Not sure if he cares that this is out there but Aaron posts on this site as SoCalSox. Good get for him. He's been on it all offseason.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 01:43 AM) Yeah, that's just silly. KD is the better player, 4x scoring champion and last year's MVP. A lot of fans are prone to being prisoners of the moment. Harden is a legit MVP candidate this season (Westbrook would be too if he didn't miss as many games as he has) and Durant is the reigning MVP. OKC had these three guys, that's just insane. Absolutely. Durant is still the better player. Westbrook is awesome but it's still about bigger guys and Durant is the 2nd best player on the planet. I've been having this conversation a lot lately. When starting a team, I feel like it'd be nuts to take Westbrook over Durant.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 10:02 PM) That's good. He's past his prime and seemed to be a major headache in the locker room. That being said, he was a hell of a player for the Bears. Always overshadowed by #54, he was probably just as good, if not better. Stop it. Not close. Briggs was a really good fit at WLB in the Tampa 2 defense. Urlacher is and was an absolute freak though. This is going to start a war but Brian Urlacher is the best LB in franchise history. Come on Butkus people, let me have it haha

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 3, 2015 -> 11:42 AM) The "experts" on MLB Network this morning talked of Sale's injury and also discussed Rodon and Minoso. They mentioned the foot injury needing to be treated very cautiously because if it isn't healed properly and completely it can affect the pitchers motion and follow through. I think we have discussed that and certainly the Sox know all about the issues. Now they were critical of the Sox not handing Rodon a starting job right now questioning if he was really as advanced as the reports say he is. The consensus was if he has the wipeout pitches now he should be on the 25 man roster come opening day. But, they then went over his fastball, slide and changeup and were impressed. No he shouldn't be and won't be on the opening day roster.

Derrick Rose to have surgery on Torn Right Meniscus

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 28, 2015 -> 07:14 AM) So did they remove it or repair it? Conflicting reports. If he walked out of hospital, I'm assuming removed. They removed it. A Meniscectomy is a removal. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 28, 2015 -> 12:11 PM) It's not an elbow, shoulder, or arm injury. Should be back for Opening Day, not too concerned Even if he's not back for Opening Day, it's not an arm injury. I'm not that worried about it.

QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 08:30 PM) 211 posts about a guy who seemingly is always hurt and not a premier player in his league. 11 posts for the top scorer in the NHL Well one sport is the 2nd most popular in this country and the other sport is hockey. I love the Blackhawks but the NBA and the Bulls especially moves the meter. Just the way it is. -
When facial hair makes these guys worse at baseball, then I'll start caring about it.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) Tim Floyd was great at Iowa State. Very different situation and you know it. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 02:21 PM) This is so Krause/Floyd all over again. A perrienial Coach of the Year candidate in place, (has won games with a roster depleted of it's best players for years), yet almost openly romancing an Iowa State coach. Gar/Pax has to go. I hope Michael Reinsdorf can see through these guys. If the Bulls didn't luck into DRose, what is Gar/Pax legacy? This isn't new. Hoiberg was linked to Bulls a year and a half ago.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) Cartwright, Skiles, Del Negro...these are the types these clowns hired until they lucked into Thibs, and now just try to piss him off whenever they can. I have no doubt the tension between the FO and team has cost the Bulls on the floor this season. When Thibs is traded or mutually departs after this season, he will get hired in about 5 seconds. The Bulls will hire someone they will be pissed off at in a year or two because they won't be able to win when Pau is 2 years older, and Noah and DRose are constantly injured. J4L is kinda crazy, but one thing he has harped on in the past is how other teams really go after titles vs. the Bulls who do spend their cap money but really are about as conservative as can be, and really never make bold moves, and when it doesn't work out because the entire roster is always hurt, it must be Thibs. Other teams think way outside the box. The Bulls...not so much. Ehh. I'm not convinced that Fred Hoiberg wouldn't be very successful as HC of the Bulls. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 01:54 PM) And that's fair why? If anyone really thinks the Bulls will win more games or advance farther in the playoffs with the same players but without Thibs, they are going to be sorry for what they wished for when, and I agree with this part, he does depart. JR still wonders why LaRussa was allowed to leave. Thibs is better than LaRussa. He will rue the day he lets Gar/Pax send Thibs packing. Great. If they feel like they will never win a title with Tom coaching though, how can they possibly not move on? -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 01:51 PM) Anyone who is going to tell me they saw Jimmy Butler as an All-Star when he was drafted is a damned liar. Nobody said that. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 11:41 AM) Apparently this is what the Cubs owner thinks of his fans. They need pretty pictures to keep their attention. Bruce Levine @MLBBruceLevine 27s27 seconds ago Ricketts feels his local Television can upgrade graphics and on screen video side bars to keep fan attention The White Sox are about to change the feel of U.S. Cellular Field to that of an NBA game to reach a "younger audience". It's really not that different.

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 01:35 PM) Let's also ignore the 4-5 scrap heap PGs Thibs has spun off, that have gone on to get paid by other teams. I'm not ignoring that. I just didn't bring that up. Thibs is a great coach. Probably one of the 5 best in basketball but the man definitely has flaws. And those flaws + his relationship with management are the reasons why he won't be coaching in Chicago next year. Many in this town treat him like a deity when he's never won anything. That's my point. -

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 01:32 PM) You're saying all Thibs did was give young players a chance to play when the other player goes out, as if he has done nothing else to develop those players. He definitely is a big part as to why they are developed. The fact that they were good picks and the players worked hard as well gets lost though. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 01:29 PM) Yet when it was time for them to play, they are all ready to go. Jimmy Butler is a freaking all star, after taking over for an all-star in Luol Deng. Very true. But they should be playing before they are eventually "forced" into action. It is well known that Tom grinds his players to dust to win regular season basketball games. Snell should have had more minutes long before the recent stretch. Mirotic should play more and McDermott should be playing too. I'm pretty sure Gar/Pax didn't trade 2 first rounders for McDermott so that he could take a redshirt year. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 01:08 PM) Did I just imagine Jimmy Butler? The growth of both Snell and Mirotic this year? Butler only got extended minutes when Deng was out and then traded. Snell has only played because of injuries to Hinrich. The only way that Mirotic plays enough in when Taj or someone is injured or out. McDermott doesn't play at all. It's ridiculous. -

People in this city act like Tom Thibodeau has won multiple championships. When is the last time that a young player emerged on this team that wasn't caused by an injury? Thibs is a great coach but there are plenty of reasons why he was an assistant for 20 years. This will be his last season with the Bulls. -

Sounds like Teuvo will be recalled. Unleash him and let's see what the kid can do. Seems like Kaner could be back for a potential 1st or 2nd round playoff series. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 25, 2015 -> 09:02 AM) I don't know, after the first one it felt like he would come back, these are the "no, no he's not coming back". And rebuilding sucks, I have no desire to watch bad basketball. They aren't going to rebuild though. They almost have to double down on Rose. He's owed $20 million each of the next two years. They are stuck there. Gasol and Butler will be around. I would look to deal Noah and Taj and see if I can get more scoring to compliment Rose/Butler/Gasol. They can't pay Noah again so they might as well use him as a potential asset.
