  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 08:57 AM) I'd either take 1sts and 2nds for the next three years or if they REALLY wanted to drop the hammer: No picks this year. None. It should have an effect like the Joe Smith - Timberwolves penalty. You obviously don't follow the NFL if you think that's an appropriate fine. 1st and 2nds? Not a chance. That would kill an organization. Not going to happen.
  2. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) Kraft and Goddell are as tight as Reinsdorf and Selig. They may lose a couple of picks and a six figure fine. The real punishment should be BB suspended for the game or 8 games next year. It's most likely more of a Brady thing than a Belichick thing but alright.
  3. Brian is going to ask Hahn why he didn't sign Chris Denorfia. "You know Rick, you had a pretty good offseason but the Denorfia signing would have made it a great offseason. Try harder next time".
  4. Seems to me like Chudzinski is Bears first choice for OC. For some reason, he isn't interviewing with Rams. He was either blocked from interviewing or staying with the Colts. Charlie Weis interviewed yesterday. My guess is that Chud can't be had, Weis isn't the right fit, and now they will lock up Adam Gase today.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 10:44 AM) Would seem like Hoke would be moving on (presumably to Tampa) if Ed Donatel (secondary coach in San Fran) is coming as well. Paul Pasqualoni is an excellent DL coach. Maybe he will stay on. If Hoke stays, it is feasible that Donatell would coach another position under Fangio. Donatell has been a DC before.
  6. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 10:31 AM) Alcantara is their CF Fowler is a corner guy or 4th OF. They will go with Fowler in CF and a Coghlan/Denorfia platoon in LF until Kris Bryant is ready in May. I think they will play Mike Olt at 3B or move Baez to 3B and use Alcantara/LaStella to 2B.
  7. Probably late to the party but Boyhood was exceptional. A really cool idea that was probably pretty tough to pull off.
  8. Did anyone see Birdman? I saw it last night. Thoughts?
  9. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 02:00 AM) Of the 3 major lists each year (And now Fangraph's would make 4), I would expect Rodon and Anderson to make every top 100, and then Montas or Adams or both to sneak in to the end of at least 1 list. Keith Law has stated that Rodon, Anderson, Montas, and Micah will all be in his top 100.
  10. How much of Chris Kyle's life is covered in American Sniper? He supposedly made up a lot of the stories in his life after the war. I have read a lot of stuff on him and he just seems like a guy that had something wrong with him and couldn't live with not being a "hero".
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 16, 2015 -> 05:59 AM) Exactly. I have no problem with an athlete thinking that. If some fan came up to me and said it, I'd shake my head at him in embarassment. That said, he better perform or the vultures will attack him. And he said it during a Fan Convention. Non story.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 10:47 AM) Would Marrone take an OC job? Right now his stock may be down, but he's getting $4 mill and has a cozy consultant job in Houston if he wants to just sit on his $4 million with no stressful responsibilities or projects and that allows him another season to try and find a better opportunity for him personally. Right now the Bears offense seems like a shipwreck and he is in charge of trying to turn it around. Not that it's impossible, but it's not the easiest thing to do. Fox would supposedly bring Kyle Shanahan as OC. Which would be awesome.
  13. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 08:10 AM) I want zero part of Schwartz. Undisciplined. This is false. He's an excellent DC.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 09:07 AM) Hub Arkush has some weird negativity toward Fox. I don't want to discredit 2 superbowls, but NFL is also a what have you done for me lately league and his Washington days were very dysfunctional, so were latter Denver years. His argument seems to be that Fox is being forced on Pace. I'd want to know if that's the truth, or if it's just a convenient media narrative to latch on to "Bears want to pair experienced coach with youthful GM". Hub Arkush not wanting John Fox is one of the reasons I really want them to hire him. Hub is a dope.
  15. QUOTE (Douglas Rome @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 05:20 AM) 4mil for a slug is obscene. I just shake my head over these ridiculous contracts; it ain't my money, or is it? thanks, douglas I'm going to start a new thread about ball player's money Greg? Did you move to Elburn and not tell anyone?
  16. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 01:01 AM) i don't know what the sox brass priority will be. i also think it will depends on how Hawkins does. It won't depend on Hawkins. You take the best player on the board. Regardless of anything else.
  17. Brandon Beachy and Francisco Rodriguez would be nice. Can't ever have enough pitching.
  18. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) Thing about Fox is he has successfully built two winning coaching staffs. let to be said about that. Perry Fewell could be the DC Could be Dennis Allen or Jim Schwartz as well. Dream staff would be: Schwartz as DC, Shanahan as OC, and Keith Armstrong as ST Coordinator. Very wishful thinking.
  19. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 09:10 AM) I'm not a fan of Collins at 7 overall. To me, he's a guy you take in the mid-teens, and even then, I'm not 100% sure on him. If you take a Safety in the Top 10, he better be an Eric Berry or Sean Taylor quality of player. Landon Collins isn't on that level. Completely agree with this. If I'm taking a top ten safety, he better be an absolute stud.
  20. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 10:11 AM) Fox and Del Rio would work for me. The Broncos have three all-pro defensive backs. They know how to develop talent. Del Rio will get the HC job in Oakland. I think Fox would bring Dennis Allen as his DC. Not sure who the OC would be.
  21. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 08:55 AM) He's a great all around safety. A better prospect than any of the safeties last year. I think he ends up going top 10, top 15 at worst. I disgaree. He's better than last year's guys. There will be better players at different positions on the board though when the Bears choose.
  22. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 08:33 AM) Landon Collins. Landon Collins isn't good enough to go #7 if Ryan Pace is honest about taking the best player available. Collins is overrated. More of a box safety. Good player but not worth a top 10 pick.
  23. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 12, 2015 -> 11:13 PM) Cardale should declare. He is pretty old for a college QB and no guarantee he starts next year. Probably would be a mid round pick given his size and arm. I actually think he'd be the 3rd QB of the board. He's 22 and has a kid? I think he goes pro.
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 12, 2015 -> 11:49 PM) Cardale Jones for #1 pick! He should and will enter the draft in my opinion. He's already 22 years old, has a kid, and will have to compete with Barrett to start next year. He's looking at being the 3rd QB off the board in April. I think he leaves.
  25. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 07:25 AM) Is Ezekiel Elliott an NFL prospect? He's definitely an NFL prospect but he can't declare as a true Sophomore.
