"I want ___" but really have nothing substantial to back it

Urlacher tweeted last night that the players shouldn't have been in late in the game. I found that humorous. This coming from the same guy that defends Lovie endlessly. The same Lovie Smith who allowed Urlacher to play in a meaningless week 17 game against Minnesota a few years ago to chase an 8-8 record. On that final play, Brian Urlacher tore ligaments in his knee. Brian Urlacher was never the same player again. I think Urlacher is the best LB in franchise history. He is a very stupid human though. -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 08:35 AM) Julius Peppers PFF grade yesterday was +7.0. Peppers was pretty good. Bears still made the right call. Can't pay him $18 million. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) He was on the news this morning and sad he's trained to hold onto the rope if he falls. He can do so for up to 20 minutes. People on either side of the cable are trained to get to him within 90 seconds. He has a harness and everything for them to use to secure him so it's not like he has to dangle there. Incrediblyl dangerous still, but it's not like they haven't though of SOME contingencies. But yes, that entire thing was boring. Luckily I talked my wife into just watching the last half hour (when he started). She wanted to watch the whole damn thing. Also, the "thank you God for giving me this gift," "God put me on the Earth to do this," etc. crap was annoying. No, moron, God did not select you personally to walk on a damn cable for a living. Yeah if he was being helped by a higher power, I think he should have just walked on air then. Don't even use the wire.

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 08:06 AM) If you think the coaches are the only problem, you are very wrong. When you play this badly, the problems are very, very widespread. I'd look to the team leaders on offense and defense - likely Cutler and Briggs - as tremendous failures in their positions as well. Of course, the largest problem is that the players aren't good enough. As a whole though, I think the Bears might have a better roster than Green Bay does. The Packers are much better at QB. Their coaching staff is better. The Bears are better at WR, TE, RB, and on the OL. Bears DL is better. GB is better at LB and in the secondary. Ted Thompson's drafting is vastly overrated. They have Aaron Rodgers and boy does he cover up a lot of warts. The Packers aren't even a playoff team with a replacement level QB. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 12:02 PM) I'd like their reasoning on why the #1 team has to go on the road for a state semifinal. "Well, because it's not fair that they've had more home games/" Um, yes it is. THEY'RE #1!!! I was on two state title teams at Lockport in 2002 and 2003. We were always on the road late in the playoffs. You just deal with it. It is a dumb rule though. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 11:49 AM) I know it's been that way for at least since I was in hs. What's their reasoning behind that? Here's what they do and I hate it: If a team has not had a home game yet, they get the home game. If both teams have had a home game and one team was on the road the previous week then they host. If both teams hosted a playoff game the previous week, it goes to the higher seed. It's dumb. It's the way it's always been though. -
QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 06:03 AM) thanks that prob took some nerve - way to go. ummmm anyone can read into that lack of response. did he get something not to say on certain things, did the front office gave him instructions, was it so bad (his D) that he didn't want to say anything? I am sure more can be read it his lack of an answer. No. Nothing can be read into it. He just didn't choose to answer it. His defense will be fine. Not great. Not terrible. But his offense will carry him. Seeing Anderson at some point in 2016 is realistic.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 01:21 PM) Section 205, Two seats in Row 7. Everything for November is sold out, everything else is available. Prices depend on games, some sell face value, some obviously wont (Cavs etc). Can you check on: Wednesday January 14 vs Washington, Friday February 27 vs Minnesota, and Thursday March 5 vs OKC. Thanks, man.

If it's Rosenthal it's probably true. He is one of Kenny Williams' go to guys to get stuff out there. Not saying that was done here but there have been instances in the past where he's given Rosenthal info. -
QUOTE (Lillian @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 07:58 AM) That is interesting. Wow, he just started to switch hit!!! I did check his split stats at Kannapolis, and while they were still better from the right side, they weren't as dramatically different. If he has been able to make as much progress as he has, just learning to hit from the left side, that is very encouraging. This guy must be a pretty gifted athlete. The scouts rave about his defense. Has anyone seen him play? How is his arm? He's as good of a defensive SS as you'll find in the minors. There are some clips on youtube and countless articles from prospect guys. Keith Law raved about him and said if he hits above the Mendoza Line he'll have a big league career. Nathaniel Stoltz from fangraphs is also a huge fan.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 10:03 PM) Hopefully Silver has a spine like Stern and fines the hell out of the Spurs and Popovich again Why though? Popovich is smart. His old team needs periodic rest. He would never win a title if he took the Tom Thibodeau approach with that roster. He owes his fan base the best chance at a World Championship. That's it. He doesn't owe anyone else anything.

Mets/LAD/NYy interested in Alexei, according to Levine

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 01:56 PM) JJ Stankevitz is at the AFL game that just started. Spoke very highly of Montas' change-up, which like with Bassitt, could be a key to whether or not he can be a starter. Mike Ferrin of XM Radio really likes Montas too Mike Ferrin @MikeFerrinSXM · 2h 2 hours ago Frank Montas. Man. I liked that very much. #WhiteSox Mike Ferrin @MikeFerrinSXM 1h1 hour ago @JamesFox917 well and the velo I think. Delivery looks more different than young Bart. Sharp recoil, front leg w/little flex That was in response to me asking about the Colon comps. Then I brought up Fausto Carmona haha. Mike Ferrin @MikeFerrinSXM 49m49 minutes ago @JamesFox917 the single most frustrating pitcher I’ve ever watched. Mike Ferrin @MikeFerrinSXM 47m47 minutes ago @JamesFox917 I’m not even a Cleveland fan, but his stuff was SO good, and he had no idea what to do with it Ferrin and JJ both were in agreement that it's nuts to automatically assume that he's a bullpen piece this early. You absolutely let him start until he proves he cannot. Here is the article from JJ from CSNChicago.com : http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/white-...g-potential-afl

Victor Martinez Re-signs with Tigers
Y2Jimmy0 replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 09:40 AM) When you factor in the payroll hit of an extra $40 million over the life of the contract? Well I'd rather not have him at all. Paying anything for a 36 year old DH when you aren't ready to win yet is dumb in general. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 09:33 AM) If we are really talking about Martinez, I would rather give me a big overpay for one year (say $20 million+) versus giving him a 4 year deal. That is nuts to me. Would you trade Spencer Adams right now for 1 year of Victor Martinez? They would have to give up a 2nd round pick for 1 year of a guy. Just doesn't make any sense to me. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 05:55 AM) Any chance Rose plays tonight? Going to the game in Milwaukee I'll be there as well. Hoping he plays obviously.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 10:29 PM) David Kaplan is on twitter saying there's a rumor that Cubs are interested in Nick Swisher lololololololol The rumor is that Cleveland is interested in Edwin Jackson in a bad salary for bad salary trade. It would either be for Bourn or Swisher.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 07:25 AM) http://news.yahoo.com/how-hillary-clinton-...-075943434.html Why it's exceedingly likely that Hilary Clinton will win in 2016...and nothing that happened last night runs against that momentum, except for the possibility of Booker's win in Colorado serving as a template for "Bill Clintonesque triangulation" all over the US....good luck finding candidates capable of that Ehh. If Jim Webb or Elizabeth Warren runs, they will both have a better shot than Hilary in my opinion. Jim Webb would absolutely destroy her.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 08:41 AM) The problem with that is that he's a terrible hitter against both pitching sides. Yep. He doesn't play defense well enough to play in the field. He doesn't hit well enough to just bat. He's a very disappointing player. I held out hope for Viciedo for a long time because of the power tool but he's just bad at baseball.
-
QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 05:47 PM) Non tendering Viciedo is crazy talk, not going to happen. Why? He's 25 years old right now and has hit 20+ HR's in 3 straight seasons. Now I'm not saying he should be given another year for us, but I refuse to believe that there isn't a team that would be willing to trade for him. I'm not even saying for a lot, but a young arm for the bullpen shouldn't be that hard to obtain in my opinion. Good call. For as upset as most of us are about Viciedo, non-tendering him would be stupid. I think he gets traded pretty soon.
