  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 05:12 PM) Why not? It's not like he's got an Adam Dunn batting average. He still gets hits. He is one of those trade deadline signees that MIGHT help a team win it all. PK is a lot worse than Adam Dunn right now. Dunn has 25 homers. Konerko is hitting under .240 with 7 homers. Stop trolling people.
  2. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 05:11 PM) Steve Gilbert ‏@SteveGilbertMLB 1m My colleague @brianmctaggart reports that #Dbacks are believed to be among frontrunners for RHP Bud Norris. Retweeted by Buster Olney Not buying this. Why would they trade Ian Kennedy to acquire Bud Norris? Bud Norris is meher than meh.
  3. Why would Texas want Konerko? Paulie is awful. I'd make the deal just to see Andy Wilkins the rest of the year.
  4. Obviously everything is fluid but it sounds like if Kennedy gets traded the Dbacks will trade for Peavy. I would take back Kubel in the deal if Sox still got a nice prospect package.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:16 PM) Alejandro de Aza CF, Alexei Ramirez SS, Alex Rios RF, Adam Dunn 1B, Paul Konerko DH, Conor Gillaspie 3B, Dayan Viciedo LF, Gordon Beckham 2B, Josh Phegley C, (Andre Rienzo P) Big Keppinger trade coming. Is it weird that Gillaspie is facing the LHP? Maybe Keppinger is getting traded. I have not been watching the games. Not sure if Robin regularly plays Conor against LHP
  6. I would actually take on Ian Kennedy and Kubel if it meant a nice package in return. If the Sox received some combo of Owings, Davidson, Holmberg, Delgado, Eaton, I would gladly take those contracts. May be able to dump Kubel in August and if not just play him in the OF for the rest of season. Ian Kennedy is a guy that could definitely get traded in the offseason. Arizona pays Peavy's deal. We pay Kubel and Kennedy and also get 3 nice prospects. Maybe throw in Lindstrom as well. Sounds good to me.
  7. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:00 AM) hopefully we can pull Gray or Russell from the A's .. other than that not much that would interest me for Jake The A's thing is not happening unless the Sox pitch in money. There's no way Oakland can pay that deal next year. Russell will not be included either.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:57 AM) https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/362240171556605952 No current talks with Cardinals. Enjoy St. Louis, Jake. Yeah I think this in fact means Jake is heading to St. Louis. Rosenthal has always been the White Sox go to guy in the major media. We shall see. I still think it's either St. Louis or Boston.
  9. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:52 AM) Im getting the feeling that the little we are hearing right now is because something is very imminent This may be true. The bottom line is the Sox want to trade Peavy. Peavy wants to be traded. The Sox have 4 young LHP in their rotation. They also have Andre Rienzo and Erik Johnson. Trading Peavy would be beneficial. Trading Peavy just to trade him would be stupid though. However, I do think that asking a team for it's best prospects and asking them to pay the salary is a bit ridiculous. I don't think Rick Hahn is a ridiculous man though. I think he knows exactly what he will take in return and that a trade will be consummated before tonight's game. Most of the things that we have heard are probably not true. Rick does hold all of the cards though regardless of what others think or say. I'd love to see Peavy traded today but it's bad business to trade him for any less than he is worth.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:44 AM) Yeah, not to be a dick, but this is a silly thread. Of course they covet Sale. Every team in the majors covets Sale. If the Orioles were serious, it would take Machado to get him. Otherwise, they'd need to offer Bundy, Gausman, Schoop, Rodriguez and Marin for me even to consider it. None of it will happen. Would people do: Dylan Bundy, Kevin Gausman, Eduardo Ridriguez, Jonathan Schoops, LJ Hoes, and Adrian Marin? I think the Sox would at least think about it. That completely depletes Baltimore's farm system. It would give the Sox 3 top of the rotation starters. Baltimore would never make that deal. That's what it'd take though, at least.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 06:31 AM) Well, we'd now have the second pick behind Houston, I don't know if I should be happy or not I think you should be happy. If they are going to be bad they may as well be colossally bad and get potential studs at the top of each round.
  12. Robert Murray‏@RobertMurrayMLB5m The #WhiteSox have called up pitching prospect Andre Rienzo, according to @MLBBrasil. Trade coming? (H/t @antreas_x)
  13. I have a feeling that the people in this thread that think it would be stupid to trade for Dylan Bundy also think that the Sox could get Xander Bogaerts or Addison Russell for Jake Peavy. Boy I can't wait for this deadline to be over.
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 01:41 PM) Trading for a minor leaguer going through TJ is terrible idea. No it's really not. You could potentially get one of the best pitching prospects in all of baseball. TJ has an 80% success rate. Bundy is a potential ace.
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 02:46 PM) So is Minneapolis-St. Paul. Detroit and Cleveland I won't argue, but I wouldn't exactly say that Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are ideal vacation destinations. Pittsburgh is a really fun and cool city.
  16. I'd love to see predictions from bucket or rockraines.
  17. In my opinion, if Dylan Bundy were on the table, Peavy would already be in Baltimore. Tommy John or not. Last year he was the best starting pitching prospect in all of baseball. He's still going to be a stud. I'd take that chance and be really excited about it.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 04:48 PM) At some point, Hahn has to pull the trigger. You can't go to Wednesday with all of your guys still here. You need to start pulling the trigger and then move your focus to other guys that need to be moved. Once Peavy goes, I think it opens up other teams potential need to go after a Dunn or Rios, imo. I know what you mean by this but Dunn will definitely clear waivers. He could be moved in August if someone wanted.
  19. Jayson Stark ‏@jaysonst 1m White Sox haven't shown interest in eating any of Peavy's $ (close to $24M left). That & health were big issues for Atl, Bal, StL & even LA
  20. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 1m Other teams are reasonably certain the White Sox are going to trade Jake Peavy. He's preparing to go. http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/...icago-white-sox …
  21. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:24 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN now #WhiteSox source has Oakland #Athletics in front of Jake Peavy sweepstakes. Peavy brought extra bags on trip in case, per @JJStankevitz. This sounds like the Sox want an extra player or something from Boston/St.Louis. If the beat writer has that information at this juncture, he is supposed to have that at this juncture if you know what I mean. Driving up the price. When the Sox acquired Jake Peavy the first time I was at Bears Camp when news broke. I am heading to Bourbonnais tomorrow so we should have a deal by tomorrow, boys.
  22. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:24 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN now #WhiteSox source has Oakland #Athletics in front of Jake Peavy sweepstakes. Peavy brought extra bags on trip in case, per @JJStankevitz. If the Cards package of Wong, Martinez, and Kelly is true what would Oakland be offering to top that? Sonny Gray, Ynoa and what else? I'm just not a big fan of their position players in the minors with the exception of Russell.
  23. JIM BOWDEN ‏@JimBowdenESPNxm 16s Cardinals continue pursuit of Jake Peavy and Alexei Ramirez with Carlos Martinez, Joe Kelly and Kolton Wong's names being mentioned #RUMORS
  24. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 10:14 AM) Looks like Boston has some interest in Lindstrom. http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2013/7/28/4564...ires-jake-peavy Good, I'll take Jackie Bradley straight up for him.
  25. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) Could be more misinformation, but this article claims the BoSox interest in Peavy isn't what it seems, they are just "kicking the tires". They are more interested in Lindstrom according to this guy. Take it for what it's worth this time of July. Also if anyone could provide a little info on the prospects they mentioned on Boston's side. http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2013/7/28/4564...ires-jake-peavy I was always skeptical of Chris Cotillo because of how young he is but he has had decent info this deadline. Remember though that he is a Red Sox fan as well. It's hard to believe what is true from anyone in that Red Sox media network because they always think they have the best prospects and should keep them all. To them, they'd be upset if Red Sox traded Ranaudo for Peavy straight up. They overvalue their own tremendously.
