That would be Paul Konerko. While Dunn is hitting .181 on the season, he is still having a better year than PK. Dunn has 17 homers. Leads the team in walks. Finally got his .ops into the .700s (Which is definitely not good enough). The dichotomy that is these two players is fascinating to me. Konerko would never get booed( nor should he because booing is dumb) but Dunn gets lambasted all the time. I would much rather take Dunn's .181 average and 17 jacks than PK's .236 average with no power. Konerko is the biggest problem on this team right now. Followed by Dunn. If your #4 and #5 hitters don't hit, you are pretty much screwed. I just think it's crazy that people still hammer Dunn because "oh my god I hate seeing strikeouts" and I never hear anything about Konerko dragging his ass around because "it's Paulie and his number will be retired some day". Anyone have thoughts on this?

I think the Pittsburgh Pirates could be a potential match for Alexei Ramirez if they decide to trade him. I don't know think the Sox could snag of the Buccos top 4 prospects. Pittsburgh has frontline starting pitching prospects: Jameson Taillon, Gerrit Cole, and even Luis Heredia. Don't think you can get any of those guys. Also, their #4 prospect is OF Gregory Polanco. I don't really think that they could land him either. OF's Josh Bell and Barrett Barnes may be possible though. SS Alen Hanson is another top prospect for them. He may project to 2B. Not sure what the White Sox could conceivably get back but the Pirates need a SS and their system is deep enough to make a deal like that to make the playoffs while still keeping their long term future intact. I would target Alen Hanson, Josh Bell, and one of their minor league pitchers on the 2nd/3rd tear. Pitt could even throw in Jordy Mercer who could start at SS for the Sox for the time being.

Baseball America ranks him 36th overall on their big board. Jonathan Mayo left him off his top 50. Minor League Ball has him 26th overall. And Keith Law left him off his top 30. UPDATE (6/2): He could sneak into the first round, but is more likely to go in rounds two or three. He's definitely someone the Astros will consider at 2-1, if he's available. College Commitment: USC, Will He Sign? Indications are that he will sign, yes. In Keith Law's current chat, I asked if Tellez was a steal at this point. Does anybody have any names that interest them for White Sox day 2? I am surprised that Oklahoma prep catcher Jon Denney is available still. I wonder if he will just go to school now. If he is signable that is the guy I want.

Once Mark Appel did not sign they were not able to recoup that money somehow. Now they do have extra money this year with 2 first rounders though.

Man it is very very unlikely but Dominic Smith at #17 would be the best case scenario tonight. I didn't think the Sox had a chance at Hawkins last year and they got him though. I will keep my fingers crossed.
