  1. Joe Espada is a serious candidate for this job. If it ultimately ends up being him, it's going to be awhile. Would he even be hired prior to the GM meetings? Astros are probably going to the World Series.
  2. I remember the bunts. I just think he'd be better this time and hopefully supported. I think he'd hold players accountable and I also think Moncada and TA would drastically improve their defense. Regardless of who they hire, if they don't hit for substantially more power, none of it matters. I just don't think Washington would be actively conspiring against organizational messages and such.
  3. Can you elaborate here? Do you have examples of the game passing by Ron Washington?
  4. You don’t think Ron Washington is better than the ghost of Tony La Russa on game day?
  5. Disagree if it’s Washington. Jon Daniels and Rick Hahn are tight. I think they likely reach a true consensus if it’s Washington.
  6. Ron Washington would be a substantial upgrade over what Tony La Russa provided the last two seasons
  7. Jerry needs to sell the team. It's not a big market operation. They should be doing the opposite. It's the perfect time to push the chips and spend money. They're going to have to pivot slightly after 2023 regardless, due to the contracts on the roster.
  8. Steve Stone said on 670 this week that he expects he and Jason to return
  9. The front office wanting a player that ownership is reluctant to pay for is a common theme with the White Sox
  10. Disagree here, It's essentially a 2/29 deal for one of the best closers in baseball. That's a bargain.
  11. I wrote about the Instructional League roster for FutureSox: https://soxmachine.com/general/2022-chicago-white-sox-instructional-league-preview/ This is much more interesting than the players the organization sent to the AFL
  12. Right but he's not in charge. You're skipping over that part.
  13. Why would this hypothetical person take the job with Ken Williams overseeing him?
  14. The owner forced a manager on the front office and that manager had a penchant for wanting as many single inning relievers as possible. Tony La Russa had the team that he wanted. They can fire Rick Hahn. That's fine. Without an entire house cleaning though, I doubt much changes. Ken Williams will be employed until he decides to leave.
  15. Kenny Williams is Rick Hahn's boss. He's the executive vice president of the Chicago White Sox. Rick talks to the media and does the day to day GM stuff because Kenny didn't want to anymore. Nothing in this organization happens without Kenny Williams' approval in most cases though.
  16. I’d be stunned if Ethan Katz isn’t the pitching coach in 2023. That wasn’t a La Russa hire.
  17. Just the first round. First 6 picks, then it goes by record. For example, if Sox were 16th and received the 1st pick via luck, they’d pick 16 in subsequent rounds.
  18. Schultz is pitching in instructs. Way too early for AFL for him. Usually guys AA or higher.
  19. I love the magic city one. It fits great
  20. Here’s 1-15: https://soxmachine.com/futuresox/chicago-white-sox-mid-season-top-30-1-15/ Lets get some discussion going
