I wrote about the Instructional League roster for FutureSox: https://soxmachine.com/general/2022-chicago-white-sox-instructional-league-preview/ This is much more interesting than the players the organization sent to the AFL

Right but he's not in charge. You're skipping over that part. -

Why would this hypothetical person take the job with Ken Williams overseeing him? -

The owner forced a manager on the front office and that manager had a penchant for wanting as many single inning relievers as possible. Tony La Russa had the team that he wanted. They can fire Rick Hahn. That's fine. Without an entire house cleaning though, I doubt much changes. Ken Williams will be employed until he decides to leave. -

Kenny Williams is Rick Hahn's boss. He's the executive vice president of the Chicago White Sox. Rick talks to the media and does the day to day GM stuff because Kenny didn't want to anymore. Nothing in this organization happens without Kenny Williams' approval in most cases though. -
I’d be stunned if Ethan Katz isn’t the pitching coach in 2023. That wasn’t a La Russa hire.
-
Schultz is pitching in instructs. Way too early for AFL for him. Usually guys AA or higher.

I love the magic city one. It fits great

He’s actually from Nicaragua
-
Maybe but his presence creates roster issues. It’s too easy to say Vaughn/Abreu split DH/1B because Grandal and Eloy still exist. It just doesn’t fit. Vaughn should never play the outfield again but he will a lot if Abreu returns
-
Savings? Jerry Reinsdorf likely isn’t spending any money without playoff revenue. If they bring back Abreu, I think this is essentially the team again.
-
I’d keep Eloy and Vaughn and let Abreu walk. That’s the solution
-
Yeah I’m not a fan of this list. Lenyn Sosa is pretty much being undersold by everyone.
-
I’ve been tough on Sheets because he shouldn’t be playing the outfield but he’s better out there than Vaughn is and he has a 129 wRC+ vs righties since returning. He’s much better than Pollock too. I don’t see any of these guys from the minors producing like that. Garcia is horrible but isn’t going anywhere unfortunately.
-
If you read James Fegan from today, it seems as if Joc Pederson and Andrew Chafin were targets. No idea why or how they couldn’t consummate those deals
-
He’s the biggest dope of all though. Ken Williams and Rick Hahn are much better at their jobs than Reinsdorf’s track record of Sox owner. The fish stinks at the head and there’s nothing we can do
