They've done a solid job of it. Just finding seniors that you like and paying them $10K each ($60K total in rounds 6-10) and you use the entire pool on 1-5 essentially and save money to go over $150K on day three with multiple guys.

The player that the White Sox ended up with wasn't the same guy they thought they were getting for whatever reason. Whether it was the fault of the amateur scouting department or the player just got worse, the White Sox deemed him expendable. People 70 hit with close to the same grades for run and defense. If you're going to slap singles intentionally, 55 defense with 55 run grades just isn't good enough.

The 19-year-old infielder that the A’s got would be a top 5 prospect in the Sox system. Sox equivalent is like Jose Rodriguez or Kath/Montgomery I’d think. Sox likely weren’t doing that for a 1 year guy. Teams just aren’t interested in Sheets and Burger it seems. Shocking I know.
