  1. They’ll play. We just won’t hear about it. The Arizona affiliates will play backfield games every day.
  2. Bonemer and Larson will play organized back field games in Arizona. Most of the others likely go to A ball
  3. They didn't really punt at all. Just rounds 9 and 10 honestly. Which is totally normal for most teams to do.
  4. Doesn’t really seem like anyone wants to ever. I saw a report that the Padres don’t want to trade Salas or De Vries. They’re 100% out on Crochet if that’s the case.
  5. I don’t think there was a demand. Thorpe was the best player offered in return. Nobody was willing to trade a position player package.
  6. He hired Brian Bannister and made multiple outside hires. Signed Erick Fedde who has been one of the best pitchers in baseball. He’s likely to get something for Tommy Pham and Paul Dejong. They already got something for Robbie Grossman. They waited out the market on Dylan Cease and did well on the return. We have no idea if he overpaid on the draft but only the first rounder is influenced much by the GM. Who have they lost on waivers etc that should still be here? I’m sorry but I don’t think it fits at all.
  7. Why? I bet some of them got $150K. Theres little incentive to sign otherwise
  8. The White Sox don’t think they overpaid. They thought Saucke and McLain were third round players and Antonacci was a fourth round value. They maneuvered to ensure that they got the players that their scouts wanted. Now they need to be right. This is always weird but I’m guessing they had a deal with both guys and it was more likely that someone would take McLain before their next pick. Yes. Every pick signed. You can’t just look at rankings. Casey Saucke is ranked 53rd overall at BP and some publications have McLain ranked highly as well. The White Sox really like these players. I don’t know who represents Bonemer. Boras represents McLain though.
  9. Hagen Smith had multiple teams in on him for nearly $8 million and the White Sox made a legitimate attempt to land Charlie Condon as well.
  10. The most they can offer him is $847,465.
  11. Where did he say this? I was on every conference call
  12. That's a good deal on Larson imo.
  13. He's already had Tommy John though. I don't think he's an injury risk right now more than any other pitcher would be from being a pitcher.
  14. What is significant? It's enough to not take $150K on day three it seems.
  15. Oh see I don’t. There was risk that Cease wouldn’t pitch well. Crochet is healthy and awesome. I don’t really see much risk with him outside of the innings load, shutdown etc.
  16. Really? I don’t feel this way at all. They’ll kill these trades or they won’t make them in my opinion. They didn’t want to incur the risk on keeping Cease but that was a good deal and by far their best offer. I believe he did this with Cease already so I don’t see why not.
  17. I’m pretty sure they overslotted Burke, Cannon and Keener in round 3. They definitely overslotted Calvin Harris in round 4, Oppor in 5 and Wolkow in 7. They saved $600K on their first rounder last year though. Doesn’t appear that they did that this year.
  18. I don’t know enough about the players. BP had Saucke at 53 overall and Sox scouts felt he really unlocked something with a swing change this year. McLain is a tweener but he’ll definitely hit. I don’t think they absolutely overpaid. I just think players have leverage now and the team wanted these players so they paid them.
  19. They really like McLain, Saucke and Antonacci
  20. Here's my guess on remaining bonuses: Hagen Smith $8 million Caleb Bonemer $2.8 million Blake Larson $1.4 million Nick McLain $1 million That takes them right to $13.2 million.
  21. The White Sox have signed picks 4-20 and committed $2,078,000 against their bonus pool. That means that they still have $13,244,965 with the first four players left to sign. I'm guessing that they are all overslot.
  22. Okay so I have no idea this year. I was expecting this one to be like $25K. This probably explains a lot.
  23. What’s a normal amount? I think Jackson Appel and Phil Fox as money savers are fine and I like the 11th rounder. He should be ranked. Was kind of surprised that the 12th rounder wasn’t ranked as well.
