  1. They are. The speculation is Sox had an agreement with Cespedes dating back months. Colas is now available as well but Sox weren’t going to renege on Cespedes agreement because Colas is now available.
  2. La Stella is an option depending on what else they do. Perfect fit. Probably more of a role elsewhere though. La Russa likes him from Anaheim. He’s gotten what he’s wanted so far. We’ll see.
  3. We’ll probably know where Colas is going regardless in January. If he commits to White Sox for 2022, he can go to DSL facility and play in Tricky League games as a member of org. Just not officially signed and can’t play at an affiliate. Probably not. Most teams probably have commitments for the following period as well. Sox usually have funds available due to how they play things.
  4. Here's what I know on Colas: He'll have a workout in January. There are some rumors that his team is desperate and they might take a shitty deal for this period but most people don't believe it. Nobody can even offer him $2 million on January 15. Nobody has it. If he waits 13 months, the White Sox are absolutely in. These kids got absolutely fucked by MLB and the PA though. Colas, Pino, Dyan Yamel etc are in a terrible spot. Cespedes would have signed this past July and been in the system. Yamel, Pino and Colas would've waited until J2 2021 and then entered systems. Now they have to wait until January 2022 and debut the following season. Really shitty situation overall.
  5. The only time Longenhagen has seen Cespedes play, he went 3-18 in the Can-AM League and had a long swing
  6. I think it depends on his birthday. He’s 14 I believe

  8. From what I've heard today, it seems very possible that Colas will indeed wait until next January
  9. Is this in regards to Colas? What's the question?
  10. I don't think this is true. MLB changed the rules to 25 years old now
  11. It's possible but that's a long time to not play for Colas. On the other hand, teams are out of $$ in this period.
  12. I'm expecting one of them, yes. Other teams are mostly out of $$
  13. You shouldn't assume the worst with guys like this though. Older cubans with somewhat limited upside and markets are right in this club's wheelhouse. This is kind of what they do.
  14. My guess is they each get around $2 million or so. The Sox have like $2.3 million left in their pool. They have to choose 1 in that case if they don't want to sign in January 2022 period.
  15. This is complete speculation so please take it as such: I've heard from people I trust that the Sox were very confident on Cespedes. Such as, "he's part of the plan", etc. It's quiet right now in general. He has no workout scheduled. There has also been an assumption that Colas is coming to the Sox. I don't think the team has the bonus pool space for both. Here's my theory: The Sox were going to sign Cespedes with their remaining cash in the 2020 class if it happened back in July. Then they would theoretically push Colas to July 2021. This makes the most sense to me. This probably isn't an option anymore because I doubt Oscar Colas wants to wait until January 2022. I'm not really sure what happens at this point.
  16. The White Sox had talks for Sonny Gray and ultimately traded for Lance Lynn instead.
  17. Yeah that was the joke, man. Haha. Thanks for reading.
  18. I wrote up a 2021 MLB Mock Draft at FutureSox. 3 White Sox fans and the rest of the first round. What did I get wrong? https://www.futuresox.com/2020/12/18/2021-mlb-mock-draft-1-0/
  19. I hope so too. They’ve been opposed in the first round of late but a bonus for that player will be in line with Jared Kelley.
  20. I did a mock draft at FutureSox today. Here it is: https://www.futuresox.com/2020/12/18/2021-mlb-mock-draft-1-0/
