  1. Thanks man. I don’t have any specifics on money. I think $23.5 per sounds realistic though. No idea on number of years.
  2. Yeah he’s sleeping. I’ve got some time for awhile haha
  3. Would you guys trade Jonathan Stiever, Leury Garcia and Matt Foster for Bryant? That’s the kind of deal the Cubs are probably looking at from teams. Two big league contributors and a pitching prospect. Bryant won’t have a huge market at $19 million.
  4. The White Sox offered 5/125 for Wheeler and the indication was that they had him. Sox have tried to land Springer in a similar fashion. This isn’t a Machado situation where you’re just waiting to get beat but it doesn’t seem like Springer is in any hurry and honestly he shouldn’t be. Everyone should wait for the Mets at this point. Stuff should start to move a bit after December 2 once the market gets super flooded. I doubt players are knocking down the door to play in Toronto though. They typically have to be the highest offer to land a superstar in similar fashion to the Sox.
  5. Completely agree. I think he's a starter in Birmingham and comes up out of big league bullpen late in season.
  6. Nothing on Bauer at all. Sox are one of the teams on Springer. No idea how advanced anything is.
  7. Jim Callis on the latest Pipeline podcast makes it seem like Rays won't be getting very top of the sports prospects from teams. He says it's financially motivated if they trade him. Mariners wouldn't trade Julio Rodriguez or Kelenic for him so I doubt Kopech or Vaughn would be in play either.
  8. I heard about Howie Clark last week but couldn’t confirm it.
  9. No fucking shot. Luis Robert has 7 years of control. The Rays would have to add multiple pieces. Steve Stone is just an asshole on twitter. I laughed at the idea and he asked me if I think they'd be looking for Yolmer and Mendick. No reason to be a condescending douche. I told him that deal would be tough to pull off since Yolmer is on the Orioles now.
  10. Vold doesn’t have any sources. He’s messing around.
  11. Nobody is taking Andrus. His option year vests if traded. No shot
  12. I think the White Sox would be selling at his lowest value point ever which is why I think it's unlikely. Their development people are thrilled with how he looks. I'd be really surprised if they moved him right now.
  13. Kopech and Vaughn are top 25 prospects in the sport. Vaughn will be a top 10 prospect at some publications and he plays 1B. The White Sox shouldn't be trading guys like that. Spend some of the cheapskate owner's money instead.
  14. Andrew Vaughn and Michael Kopech are two of the top 25 prospects in baseball. There's no chance in hell that the Rays land both of them for Snell. The dude threw 100 innings in 2019 and 50 in 2020. I wouldn't even headline a package with 1 of them and I understand how awesome Snell is. When your owner is Jerry Reinsdorf and you don't consistently play at the top of the free agent market, you can't trade close to big league ready potential stars. It just doesn't make sense. I'd make a quantity deal with Cease, Dunning, Madrigal etc and if that isn't enough, just trade for Lynn or Musgrove instead. Kopech and Vaughn are too important IMO. I doubt the Rays get 1 prospect ranked as highly as either of Kopech or Vaughn. The problem is the Sox don't have enough guys in that 30-100 overall range prospect wise.
  15. Jeremy Haber could be in play but it's a lateral move for Hahn.
  16. Great question. There are definitely guys that sign for under $1 million that turn into absolute studs. The Sox don't do that well enough. Here's the thing though, these trainers have lots of different players. Sometimes a team will sign a guy for $3 million and also get a discount on other players represented by the same trainer so they get more bites at the apple. Paddy could be better and identify better talent. The biggest issue though is that these guys reach agreement at 14 years old in most cases and the Sox generally wait. That's why they're able to capitalize when an Oscar Colas or Norge Vera comes available. They're often one of the only teams with $$ left.
  17. Marco Paddy met with the media last week and we weren't invited to participate but I decided to write about him anyway: https://www.futuresox.com/2020/11/23/outside-the-spotlight-marco-paddy-adds-to-white-sox-international-infrastructure-despite-challenges/
  18. What is there to be skeptical of? Arizona placed a guy that the White Sox scouts liked on waivers. The White Sox claimed him. This sort of thing happens every offseason for every team.
  19. He’ll be starting in AA and that’s what he should be doing. He needs innings. He’ll likely be up in September and playoffs out of bullpen though.
  20. I'm expecting Tyler Johnson and Gavin Sheets to get protected.
  21. The Sox blogs would love to if we had acces to the audio.
  22. Stop being such an asshole. Someone boot this clown.
  23. Was always well regarded as a player. Spanish speaking. Played for lots of teams. Very adept at analytics. Coming from Yankees structure is a benefit. Well regarded infield instructor. Cairo wasn't on my radar but I'm glad they went outside the organization for bench coach and pitching coach.
