Chris Fetter would be an awesome hire. -
White Sox to participate in 2020 Arizona Instructional League
Y2Jimmy0 replied to Tnetennba's topic in FutureSox Board
I heard very good things about DJ Gladney, Ben Bailey, Jared Kelley and Matthew Thompson. Without media there though, it's impossible to get much outside of speaking with some of the prospects who were in attendance. -
Christian Yelich signed a massive 10 year extension last year. He's not going anywhere.

White Sox coaching staff announced (List in first post)

I would imagine that Jose Oquendo joins the staff in some fashion and Joe McEwing likely stays as well. On 670 The Score on Saturday, Bruce Levine mentioned that former A's pitching coach Curt Young is an outside option for that position. -
Yeah. Need to pay a fee to Japanese club but he can sign for whatever after that.

The best part of this article is right here: Two MLB scouts who have a history covering Sugano project him as a strong No. 3 type starter in the majors. Even in what is supposed to be a tight-fisted market, most clubs want to add starting pitching and a few such as the Blue Jays, Giants and White Sox are expected to be a little bolder financially than others.

We're not going to hear much. I think it will ultimately be fine. It's like any work place. Some are totally fine with it, some aren't very happy and some are confused. A few of the top players were under the impression that AJ Hinch was the top candidate so it's easy to understand why some of the players feel blindsided. Tony La Russa can do the job from 7-10:30 every night I think. The organizational structure is a joke though and now it's right out in the open.

I like Brantley but I don't think he can hold up in RF personally. He's LF/DH only for me and they don't really need that after Vaughn is ready
-
I don’t think anyone requests a trade. This could be more Bobby Valentine in Boston than Jack McKeon in Florida though
-
It's going to get worse. The players aren't happy.

But you said you didn't like politics in sports. Oh, you meant your politics are cool? The black athletes should just shut up and dribble though. I know your type. I got it now.
-
I'm all for no politics in sports. Get rid of the national anthem altogether, all the flyovers funded by taxpayer dollars and the other nonsense couched in faketriotism. You agree?
-
You seem fun at parties. Who exactly should "run the sport"?
-
Well it seems as if the players were preparing for AJ Hinch
-
I hope Tony quits in spring training. It'd be hilarious. I wish there was a way for the players to win and Reinsdorf to lose somehow.
-
Oh yeah. He thought they were getting Hinch.
-
Benintendi sucks so I hope not.
-
I mean basically, yeah.
-
And she's 100% correct in that clip.
-
I made it up apparently.

First of all, I'm not your guy. I wrote an article last week about how La Russa was getting a bad rap. The hatred is overblown. That doesn't mean it's a good move though. These things aren't mutually exclusive. La Russa managing wouldn't be the end of the world for fans because the team is really good and managers don't matter that much. Hahn is getting overruled if this happens and he should go elsewhere. That part is also true. I'm not really sure what is so difficult to understand.
-
Beats me. My info in regards to big league team is spotty as best as some posters have pointed out. I'm gonna sit this one out from here.

Tony La Russa is getting a bad rap in some areas. He's not some dinosaur traditionalist. He'll use all the analytics used in the modern game. He always has. I have no doubts that he can manage from the dugout and be fine. He's also dealt with lots of players. If Tony can coach Ricky Henderson, he can coach Tim Anderson. My issue is it essentially would be a short-term commitment. It makes more sense to find a guy that could be here fora decade instead of hiring Tony. Also, regardless of what some posters are willfully choosing to believe, it suggest disharmony in the ranks. Rick Hahn didn't have the end of season press conference, describe his ideal manager, zero in on his buddy AJ Hinch and then be totally fine with the owner swooping in and hiring his buddy. Will Hahn leave? Probably not. There are only 30 GM jobs and he has one but it makes thing even harder to decipher going forward. We never know who is responsible for which moves and that will absolutely continue. At this point, if Jerry wants to run the team, he should get on the phone with the agents and start working on free agent deals and trades. He apparently doesn't need a General Manager. That's my issue. Tony being the manager on a random Tuesday is the least of my issues with this.

I've never heard that specifically other than all the reports that you are all seeing and Harold's eyeballs earlier.
-
I'm telling you what happened and you keep disregarding it. I'm not sure what the next step is here. It's apparently you just willfully believing whatever you'd like to believe.
