Dallas Keuchel pitched better with Grandal. Let me ask you this. James McCann is on the roster and playing catcher. Who plays DH on the days McCann catches? Grandal, Abreu and Vaughn are on the roster too. None of this makes any sense.
-
They're professional athletes. If they have to have James McCann around to perform, then we're doomed and they should get rid of all of them anyway.
-
He shouldn't be a full time player. The smartest teams in baseball understand how to extract value platooning. Pederson has a lifetime .850 OPS and 128 wRC+ vs RHP. He shouldn't ever face lefties and playing in the ALC, he won't have to.

This would be a terrible use of limited resources

I broke down the White Sox signings during the 2019-2020 international period. They spent the least amount of $$ in baseball and that has to change. I discussed their penny pinching ways here: https://www.futuresox.com/2020/10/24/2019-2020-white-sox-international-review/

Not many. I'm real curious about this for Cespedes. Enrique Rojas says A's and Tampa are front runners for Pino with $1 million plus. Let's say the Sox sign sign Colas for like $2.2 million. Where the hell does Cespedes go?
-
I don't think it does. It means they won't get this Pino kid.

Thanks for reading man. I appreciate it
-
Yeah they apparently weren't pleased.

I wrote about the manager search for today and some of the actual candidates: https://www.southsidesox.com/2020/10/22/21524486/white-sox-job-a-desirable-destination-for-managerial-candidates

I’d say 3-5 including La Russa. They can’t talk to Hinch, Geren or Quatraro yet though. All external. Pitching coach likely internal though.
-
They’ve interviewed La Russa. And some others. A few guys can’t be interviewed yet however.
-
To be fair, the White Sox have one of the best international scouts in the world on their payroll already and ownership still doesn't spend internationally. It's a solid idea from SS2K and I agree overall but it doesn't really matter on the international front.
-
The White Sox pitching development people love this kid. Off the record of course haha.
-
Just because you interview Sam Fuld for the managerial job, it doesn’t mean that’s the only position in the organization he could ultimately take. They should be talking to everyone.
-
I have an article on this dropping tomorrow. There are multiple candidates for this opening.
-
I’m hoping that Fuld is AJ Hinch’s bench coach. That would be tremendous.
-
.470 winning % after being a long time minor league manager
-
Bob Geren is a former catcher, really heavily into analytics and has managing experience. The White Sox have a type in this search outside of one major outlier.
-
There’s another former manager in one of the dugouts as well.
-
We’re not going to hear anything until after the World Series this year. The candidate list includes at least one person coaching in the World Series.
-
I agree with this but they'd also have to pay the players that they trade for. People act like it's either or.
-
I’d be fine with Hasler but it kind of depends what they think Zaleski is long term. If he’s their pitching coach soon, making Hasler the pitching coach now might not make sense. If Zaleski is the long term plan, maybe he becomes PC now and Hasler stays in bullpen. It just depends I guess.
-
This is not accurate. Hasler is a development guy and has been doing all the data related stuff and tech on the big league level of late. He’s nothing like Cooper.
-
The best trade wa when he accidentally acquired Luis Alejandro Basabe instead of Luis Alexander.
