That’s the stupidest s%*# I have ever heard in my life and Grifol should be fired on the spot for saying such crap. And Hahn should be fired on the spot for still having Grandal & Andrus on this roster. Zero reason the entire organization isn’t getting young guys with uncertain futures lots of playing time. What a fucking clown show these guys are.

Whodunit - The Clubhouse Napper
Chicago White Sox replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Makes a lot of sense. I only ruled him out because I considered “earlier in the season” to mean June at the latest. And he was only with the Sox for like a week max. When he was traveling with the Sox? His minor league game log shows him with Charlotte almost all of April, May, & June. -

@wsd - Do you know who the Clubhouse Napper is? I guarantee the name is out there somewhere. -

Why would Hahn lie about that though? TBH, I thought it was more embarrassing that he confirmed there is a player who gets to nap in the clubhouse. -

I just feel the “his energy is a 10…we need at an 8” means the dude is amped up at all times. -
If only he were LH, he’d be the definition of a savage. Kid can fucking slug.

?…Rick Hahn has confirmed there is indeed a clubhouse napper, but didn’t mention by name who the specific player was. All we know about the suspect is the following: He is a positional player and their sleep issues are “fairly serious” Clubhouse napping was proposed by new “Sports Performance Program” Veterans were upset after witnessing this napping “earlier in the season” I think two things are abundantly clear based on the evidence above. First, the player is likely a younger guy given vets felt it needed to be addressed with management. Second, the player is also likely relatively new to our clubhouse or else this issue would be more well known. By filtering on younger players in their first or second season with our club and were on the roster during the first half of the season, we get the following suspects: Oscar Colas Lenyn Sosa Carlos Perez Jose Rodriguez Adam Haseley Now looking at the list above, it’s hard to imagine Jose Rodriguez was up long enough to have created this whirlwind. The same applies to Carlos Perez, who was only up for a handful of games in May. That leaves Colás, Sosa, & Hasely as the primary suspects. From what I can gather, Colás’ energy level seems to be very high and it’s unlikely he’s suffering through “fairly serious” sleep issues. Now we’re down to two guys. And of the two, I think Haseley is the likelier suspect. IMO, napping mid-game means you’re riding some serious pine and simply put Adam has spent more time on the bench this season when on the active roster than Sosa has. While it could theoretically be Lenyn, the math suggests Hasely is the dude napping mid-game in the clubhouse. I think the case is pretty much solved, but please share your theories in this thread. I love a good mystery and look forward to Soxtalk eventually solving this caper.

For the first time in forever, I actually feel like Rick Hahn won’t be our GM come October. Dude is clearly just our press secretary at the moment and they are simply giving him a soft landing by not firing him now. Rick is so fucking done.
-
He said this is not the time for player development??
-
Real question, but do you think that Rick Hahn realizes he sucks a fat you know what?
-
Jerry would rather have one Leury Garcia than 40 front office employees. It’s why we’ll be in baseball hell until Jerry finally exits this organization.8

He talks a big game? He said all the right things in his opening press conference and then failed to deliver on any of them. The “we will control the strike zone on both sides of the ball” will go down in history as the biggest over-promise / under-deliver s statement ever. Dude has no back-bone whatsoever.

He’s drafted two top 40 prospects while selecting in the teens or later. That’s super impressive. Need to separate the talent identification from the player development. Not Shirley’s fault that Getz & KW Jr run that show.

Kim Ng: "I called up my man Kenny Williams and got it done"
Chicago White Sox replied to HoosierSox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Rick being phased the f*** out! You gotta love seeing it! -
Here are Rick’s “core” players for 2024 with their current fWAR: Lineup: Robert, CF = 4.1 Benintendi = 0.8 Jimenez = 0.7 Vaughn = 0.1 Moncada = (0.1) Anderson = (0.5) Colas = (0.6) Rotation: Cease = 2.4 Kopech = (1.6) Bullpen: Santos = 1.3 Bummer = 1.1 Crochet = (0.1) That’s a total of 7.4 fWAR from our “core” this year. Strip out Robert & Cease and it’s only 0.9 fWAR. Good luck to this one into a division next year Rick!

Add another impact reliever to the list of things Hahn has to address to make this team competitive.

Grade Rick Hahn's Trade Deadline Performance
Chicago White Sox replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hahn effectively added the following: One high-end catching prospect One post-hype catching prospect Three quality SP prospects in AA A semi-interesting relief prospect A lottery ticket arm in the lower minors a 32 year old, RH 4th outfielder Hahn gave up the following pieces to do so: The best rental SP on the market An expensive SP with bad 2023 results Two relatively cheap rental relievers One overpaid reliever with a club option One overpaid reliever with a 2024 salary A controllable 1B/DH with huge power Overall, I’d grade the summation of these trades an A-. I hate Rick Hahn with all my heart, but he did very well in trading these pitchers, addressing org needs without sacrificing overall talent. I downgrade the overall grade slightly due to the uncertainty of the Burger deal. Eder sounds pretty legit if healthy, but the scouting reports on him since returning from TJS are very mixed. If the stuff is there, then this is a very nice return. But if the hope is “Coop will fix ‘em” I’m not sure I feel quite as good about that gamble. That being said, I give his broader deadline a hard C. Hahn has improved the outlook for 2025 forward, but under no circumstance are we better for 2024 despite Hahn trying to spin it that way. And that lack of clear direction is very problematic, especially when we were in the midst of a strong seller’s market. Now, it’s very possible the returns weren’t there for Cease, Tim, or Bummer to pull the trigger and if that’s the case you hold until the off-season. But saying there is a path to contention next year when you have a garbage core and close to a dozen holes is highly concerning. Burning through Cease’s value in some Hail Mary attempt at winning in 2024 would bring my grade down to an F-. -
Grade Rick Hahn's Trade Deadline Performance
Chicago White Sox replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Our offense is an abomination…that’s why we aren’t competitive this year. -
Zero chance that will the the rotation. They will almost certainly sign two starters.

I love that the media is calling Rick out for his bullshit. What an arrogant piece of s%*# to think Sox fans would believe a word that comes out of his mouth.
