Fedde to STL in a three way with LAD

He may not be as valuable as Fedde, but he’s not valueless. -

The Dodgers have stuff that makes sense for Fedde and can help facilitate a trade to the Cardinals if they are the most interested team. Obviously Edman isn’t coming to Chicago in this hypothetical three way. -

Is that a true stat? Thought I heard that on the broadcast today and said no fucking way that could be true. -

Not suggesting I support a Walker trade, but at least he has youth on his side unlike those other two -

I think you are underestimating the delicacy of the situation. We are few bad moves away from a decade of futility. Hiring an unqualified GM from what is one of the most insular orgs in all of baseball doesn’t inspire much confidence either. Why should Sox fans be optimistic at the moment exactly? And just because Jerry may have not been the worst owner in the past, doesn’t mean he isn’t the worst right now as a stubborn 80 year old who is willing to undermine the authority of his key decision makers to do things his way. Our org is becoming more & more outdated by the day because our dinosaur of an owner refuses to evolve to the modern game. We are literally handicapped in a way few other teams are and him willing to spend like an upper middle market team doesn’t change that fact. -

Larson is certainly interesting IMO, but he’s a boom or bust type prospect and it’s scary that’s all we have to show for Santos less than a year after making the trade. -

Haven’t seen it posted it here, but apparently the Sox have been trying to pry away Jordan Walker in a Fedde trade per Fegan -

He was a top 10 org prospect at the time of the trade…he could have been used on something other than Dominic Fletcher. If it’s true we had our choice of him or Jake McCarthy, then Getz & Barfield missed massively in their evaluations. -
How the F are we ever going to build an offense?
Chicago White Sox replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The first two were super high picks which the new anti-tanking rules prevent us from accumulating in back to back seasons. As for Iguchi, we got lucky that teams didn’t scout Asian to the extent they do today and that our GM had an actual eye for talent and identified him as a guy worth pursuing. Beyond that, B & C tier free agents have fallen off massively in terms of value (lack of steroids perhaps?) so pulling off a 2005 offseason is near impossible nowadays. -

Let’s avoid believing this Benintendi insanity for now. It would be suicide for the franchise and as shitty as things are being a White Sox fan I don’t want to start thinking about ending my fandom preemptively. -
I get Fedde still being here because there has been almost no movement on the SP front, but bats are moving and it’s not like Pham is a dude teams will wait on until the deadline. This game of musical chairs will end at some point and you don’t want to be the last one without a partner.
-
Unfortunately, we’re at the point where we need to target position players for our bigger trades. If these guys can’t return positional prospects in this market, then no idea how Getz expects to acquire it via trade later. Obviously you get what you can for Kopech and the lesser pieces whether that be pitching or not.
-
What forums?

We are officially under 48 hours until the deadline now and Getz still hasn’t made a trade. Meanwhile, the Rays are already at four moves and counting. Doesn’t mean a bunch s%*# can’t or won’t happen, but I must admit I’m not feeling warm and fuzzy. And weird leaks that were talking with a Braves team that can’t afford anyone of substance reeks of potential desperation. Prove me wrong Getz and make a fucking move, even just a minor one to ensure you’re actually working this weekend.

I think it would have ramifications greater than the white flag trade if they used on of their few star players to unload a bad, but not massively large contract when they have no other financial commitments to speak of.

I think we can blame Getz for building an offense that provides Robert with no protection, hiring a hitting coach who can’t get through to him, and refusing to make a change at manager despite the team more or less quitting (although that could be on Jerry admittedly). -
We are one of the lowest revenue teams in baseball?

I’m very skeptical of a legacy poster who suddenly is an insider with loads of info that only a handful of people in the front office would know.

The Sox used to be good at scouting and player development and had a LatAm pipeline that actually produced talent. The world has changed massively since 2005 and we are rapidly behind the times. The size of our analytics department should be clear evidence of that. We are also starting from complete scratch which is a task most GMs do not have to deal with. -
Why? They get a ton of guaranteed money from their regional and national TV deals and have almost no payroll commitments for next year. They also don’t pay rent if attendance is super low. Don’t let Harold convince you otherwise…he simply wants to free up money so we can sign a Santander caliber free agent.
-
It’s becoming more and more likely that Harold is indeed Getz.
