Hahn claimed earlier there would be money to be spent and they usually save some money for the deadline, but who the fuck knows at this point. Taking on a moderately expensive, underperforming LOOGY seems even dumber if they were truly cash strapped.

Has Hahn spoken yet? Not looking good at the moment. I totally get not buying controllable pieces right now, but there were plenty of rentals who could have helped us and Hahn has passed on all them as of this moment. Right now I’d give Rick an F for trade deadline performance to go along with F off-season score.

I’m guessing something like Crochet, Ramos, & Popeye for Happ & Givens happens in the last 30 minutes and to me that’s a big overpay IMO.

There is still ~100 minutes left…plenty of time for Hahn to overpay for Happ.

I called him out earlier for claiming the Sox were all after Pham but couldn’t close a deal because they needed to clear a roster spot (despite the 40 man having an open roster spot right now).

Hahn quickly running out of LH bat options.

I think there will definitely be some sort of shakeup with the positional group this off-season and adding a LH power bat somewhere will be critical. I’m excited as anyone for Montgomery & Colas, but we shouldn’t be relying on those guys for at least a few years. Hahn will need to do something for 2023.

Four hours to go…will be very interesting to see what Hahn does. I’m expecting another reliever (perhaps Givens) at a minimum, but unsure beyond that. IMO, adding a LH bat who can play RF or 2B is a must, but Hahn has ignored these positions and the need for better balance for years. Honestly, nothing would surprise me at this point and I could see a surprise trade a la Kimbrel or Hahn more or less stand pat.
