I’m assuming they do it out of self preservation. Honestly, at this point I think the front is complicit in this horrible offensive approach given the lack of change at the hitting coach position.

Don’t get me wrong, adding someone like Gallo isn’t ideal, but it would be better than doing nothing for RF and that’s exactly what we did last trade deadline.
No one is excited for the 2022 version of Joey Gallo, but the small chance he can return to 2019 / 2021 is exciting if the cost is basically nothing and other options prove too costly.
