  1. Has Sheets played every game since being recalled? Feels that way, but I’m not it’s not the case.
  2. Honestly, getting swept by a bad team sucks, but look at all the pitching matchups. We should have won three of four minimum. This offense sucks a giant you know what right now and a lack of talent only explains part of it. We don’t have a single player with 10 HRs right now and it’s June 26th. Only two other teams don’t have a player with 10 HRs in the Tigers & A’s, who are two of the worst six teams in all of baseball. How is that fucking possible? We have gone from 3rd to 19th to 26th in total HRs in the three seasons under Menechino despite most of the same talent. Yes, injuries have played a part here, but when the entire team has seen a massive reduction in power in such a short period of time and significant increase in groundball rate it’s very clear this goes beyond pure talent and is at least somewhat approach related. There are so many people responsible for this shit show, but the reality is there one non player who is an easy sacrifice and that’s Menechino. I’m sure he’s a great guy who works hard, but whatever he’s doing is not working and it’s time to see if someone else can get through to these guys. How much of an impact it would make remains to be seen, but the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over and expecting a different result and right now that’s exactly what we’re doing by retaining Menechino as hitting coach.
  3. Not sure that will change anything. Hahn & La Russa will just use the injury excuse to escape any blame.
  4. Leury going to get a 10 straights after that legendary hustle
  5. The problem is Tony is a legit cancer and is slowly eating away at this team’s soul. I still feel a change at manager & hitting coach could potentially save this season, but that’s obviously not happening. And with all the injuries and shitty coaching from Menechino we probably aren’t capable of overcoming Tony right now. We will just contain to play shitty, lifeless baseball as our season gradually withers away. All because Reinsdord wants to prove a couple of geezers still got it.
  6. I don’t understand why I’m still watching this game.
  7. Got to think Colas gets the bump soon.
  8. Like we’re willing to throw away the season and not even see if maybe he’s part of the problem. Fucking insanity, but par for the course with an organization that prioritizes loyalty over accountability.
  9. Probably spending too much time with Menechino
  10. What’s funny to me is you have this completely lifeless, underperforming team and as manager you have a chance to insert a young exciting player into the lineup and possibly revitalize the club. Instead, we got to give at-bats to Leury Legend and his 25 wRC+ because reasons. Hopefully Sosa takes advantage of this opportunity because he may not get many more shots to claim a spot on this roster.
  11. It honestly seems like this may of happened. I could see Tony batting him lead off and hoping he fails to help his case to play his shitty vets.
  12. Saw this and it‘s really pathetic. He’s going to carry that water until the very end.
  13. Is La Russa actually insane? Like I’m super happy Sosa is playing but why does he need to hit lead off? I thought Tony said he was trying to take pressure off the kid like two days ago?
  14. Today is a must win game. It’s really that simple. Win today or blow this shit up. Let’s see what these guys are made of coming off an embarrassing performance yesterday. If they have any heart, they come out and beat the fuck of these Orioles. Also, we better get Sosa in the starting lineup. My pitchfork will be ready & waiting for that lineup card to be released.
  15. So we call up a top 5 prospect in the middle of a breakthrough season and then let him rot on the bench for a week, breaking up his rhythm, burn an option, and probably rework his swing with Menechino so he learns chop pitch after pitch into the ground. The best part is Hahn probably deserves more scorn for this as he should be aligned with Tony on the plans for Sosa up-forty or not called him up at all. This franchise went from one of the most exciting in all of baseball to an absolute shitshow in a single year. Reinsdorf can’t go soon enough.
