I maintain that KW is the lesser of two evils in a win now situation. Ultimately both guys should go, but give me Kenny for a year and hope that a thorough search results in a quality hire who can truly transform the organization. I would hate to rush such an important decision as the repercussions can last a decade.

My wife booked the tickets, but apparently they’re super expensive. I would have loved sitting in the 100 level, but it was way too much money (her words) so we sat in the level above. The views were still really good there so probably the best overall value. Take the subway to the get the stadium. You get dropped off right there. Cell service sucks around the stadium if you have Verizon so make sure to have a copy of your tickets saved to your phone. I found the food options to be terrible in the stadium and the beer is way overpriced (even for Rate standards), so load up as needed beforehand.

Here’s the thing. We have a rotation of Giolito, Kopech, Cease, & Lynn for another two years. Either you sell off Giolito at the deadline or you go for broke these next two years. Kenny is a flawed baseball executive, but he’s a significantly better scout than Hahn will ever be. And he’s willing to take risk and make a big trade, which will he needed to fix the major flaws with this lineup. Meanwhile, I’d begin an exhaustive search for our next President of Baseball Operations and rebuild this organization from the ground-up. Kenny would just be the placeholder while that search takes place.

Here is our lineup by OPS: .895 .816 .714 .732 .508 .600 .650 .482 .519 That’s got to be worse than our rebuilding years lineups.

Real question, but is this our worst lineup of the season? I mean, Jake Burger is batting 3rd, we’re playing both Sheets & Vaughn in the OF corners, and we wrap it up with McGuire & Big Energy in the 8th & 9th spots. Good god Tony is a mad man.

I agree the first four items are probably the only ones that might actually happen. As for Hahn being fired, that probably wouldn’t happen until the offseason and would almost certainly would need to be necessitated by Jerry.

We don’t have a choice at the moment. Long term he can replace Jose at 1B, but until then we need his bat in the lineup.

I almost included Carlos Perez as one of the ten steps, but you got to give Grandal more rope since his contract runs through next year and Eloy is at DH in this hypothetical. As for Pollock, there is zero chance everyone remains healthy the rest of the way so he’d remain a defacto starter.
