  1. Collins has options, Zavala does not. That keeps him alive for a bit longer.
  2. I’d trade one of them plus other things for Manaea, but just not both of them when it’s still very likely one of them could see a decent amount of playing time this year. And I think both is a massive overpay relative to what other rentals have gone for IMO.
  3. TBH, I wouldn’t be against using Dallas as an opener for Kopech if all six guys are healthy and let him pitch once through the lineup. Then when someone goes down he slides in as the #5 starter.
  4. It seems inevitable that Manaea ends up on this team.
  5. I’d definitely pay a little more if I was able to extend him, but I wouldn’t trade both Burger & Sheets for him regardless. One of them is important depth and a potential replacement for Abreu if he decides to hang them up after the season.
  6. I would have preferred Gray personally the costs were comparable and he has the extra year of control.
  7. What kind of return do you anticipate Manaea commanding?
  8. Either way there is no way he doesn’t 1/$15M in free agency. Realistically he gets something similar to Canha in the realm of 2/$26M. Either way I see zero argument for him being overpaid based on expected performance for the 2022 season.
  9. If Burger were to put up a 2 win season for OAK this year like Zips projects, I’d wager he’d have much more value than one year of Manaea. Whether OAK wants to take that gamble or even believes in his talent remains to be seen, but people are really sleeping on Jake IMO.
  10. Burger is projected as a 2 win player right now by ZiPS, so I’d argue a decent amount. I mean the kid missed a ton of development and still came back with big numbers despite skipping two leagues. Plus he got his body into shape where he can play a solid 3B. He is not some throw in and you certainly don’t trade both him and Sheets for one year of a 3 win pitcher.
  11. Yes, but Pollock in LF & Engel in RF means no Vaughn in the lineup as Eloy would be the DH. Engel should not be starting over Vaughn on a regular basis.
  12. Why is Manaea going to cost considerably more than Bassitt or Gray?
  13. Signing bonus was paid up front and is simply allocated across all seasons for accounting purposes.
  14. Bonus is non-cash at this point. From what I can tell, we will owe him his $10M cash salary this year plus either a $10M salary for 2023 or a $5M buyout. His luxury payroll hit for both years appears to be $12M.
  15. Oh got would I hate that trade. I normally don’t say this, but I hope you’re wrong ?
  16. You were on the money! So you think Romy++ for Manaea is next?
