  1. Oh I absolutely loved Jermaine, but dude was a total statue out there in RF.
  2. I just think Suzuki makes more sense for a team a year or two out from being serious competitors vs. a team in the thick of their window.
  3. The track record recently with Japanese positional players is pretty poor and I’d much rather have sure things than gamble my money on a pitcher who has one good healthy season in his career and a guy who has never played stateside. Those are both massive risks vs. Bassitt & Conforto for the same and it’s worth the prospect capital IMO.
  4. I think he can downplay RF to the media, but acting like 2B is fine is hilarious unless Tony has taken over and is giving his favorite little Legend a full time job.
  5. When prices are exponentially higher. You actually want to enter the 2022 season with Leury Garcia as your 2B and both Vaughn & Sheets as regulars? Seems absolutely nuts to me.
  6. Clearly negotiating with Boras on a position player. Regardless, the idea we don’t need to add some sort of 2B is laughable even for a token Rick Hahn managing expectations press conference.
  7. Is your argument can we win a World Series with bad defense out of RF? I mean sure, anything is possible. But what you actually said is Vaughn & Sheets would only hurt our defense “a bit” which I fully disagree with. Now, if you’re telling me I’m somehow getting Hall of Fame offensive production out of Vaughn & Sheets, then sure, I’ll endure some shit defense but that seems a bit optimistic to me Also, not sure what you mean we got Engel as our defensive OF 40% of the time. Are you suggesting he comes into each game during the 6th?
  8. I do see now…lol. But to my original point, the risk is significantly higher with Suzuki than it is with Conforto.
  9. You trolling me bro? Like any ball hit down the RF line was an automatic triple. Dude was brutal out there, especially his last couple years with us. Check out his defensive stats if you don’t believe me.
  10. No idea who those are. I’m guessing Bassitt is one of them, but not sure which.
  11. Rodon will cost more cash than Bassitt and will prevent us from addressing other areas which is why Bassitt requires prospect currently to acquire.
  12. Collins has almost zero value and Burger is never going to be the centerpiece for a star like Ketel Marte. Not even remotely close to the cost.
  13. I’m assuming a rebuilding team will claim him and eventually try to sneak him through waivers. Unless we’re committed to him on the 25 man roster he’s as good as gone IMO.
  14. Yeah, the Yankees’ front office must have accidentally leaked that and it certainly wasn’t Scott Boras trying to build up a market or anything.
  15. There are downside risks to Conforto who has an excellent track prior to an injury riddled season but there aren’t for Suzuki a guy who has never played stateside?
  16. Vaughn & Sheets were Jermaine Dye bad in RF. The defense will suffer much more than a bit. Was I the only who watched the playoffs and saw Leury’s shit defense cost us in the OF? Just get an average fielder out there and it will allow Robert to cheat more towards LF and offset the shit defense we can’t avoid out there.
  17. There is almost no chance that Adolfo is a part of this organization five weeks from now, Cespedes wasn’t very good last year from an offensive perspective, and Colas has played zero games in the US. We should not let any of these guys impact the decision-making in the midst of our competitive window. Remember when we thought one of Rutherford, Basabe, Gonzalez, Adolfo, Cordell, Tilson, etc. would be the answer for RF? Unfortunately that did not work out for us. And I don’t think there is any chance a Vaughn/Sheets/Engel is going to match a healthy Conforto. The bulk of any offensive value the first two guys provide would be negated by their extremely poor defensive contributions. We’ve dicked around with RF for far too long and need to get it right while we’re legit World Series contenders.
  18. The also added Melky Cabrera, Adam LaRoche, David Robertson, & Zach Duke and were crowned the champions of the offseason by many. Those moves were underwhelming in hindsight, but acting like all they did was add Shark is completely disingenuous.
  19. Lol…I didn’t get that far with my keyboard warrior threat!
  20. That’s pretty much it. They need at least one impact bat and more pitching depth, but plus need to address 2B in some fashion. Get that shit done and we’re looking damn good.
  21. I love the idea, but don’t see Arizona trading both those two guys for the package outlined. My guess is if they move those guys they will they are multiple years and looking for much younger talent. And if that’s the case, salary relief has much less value. Interesting concept though and hopefully Hahn is willing to think the box to improve this team.
