No idea what La Russa is thinking. Just said that we have five guys who are more high leverage and he chooses the guy he used yesterday who has a poor track record in back to back performances.
I get wanted to save Bummer for later, but why burn through Crochet yesterday? Prove me wrong La Russa, but not a fan of this overall strategy to be honest.
Giolito battled, but I would have pulled him a batter early. I absolutely hate bringing guys in with a runner on second and less than two outs. Outside of the elite guys, always assume they will give up at least one hit in an inning.
