  1. Don’t think so. But if it ain’t Giolito, then these dudes have gone mad.
  2. Great choice…kid is a potential game-changer for us against RHP. He needs to be in the center of the lineup against McCullers given our track record against him.
  3. It’s amazing to spend 300+ hours of regular season baseball and then basically be screwed by workday baseball games when your team finally makes the playoffs.
  4. I think it’s funny that MLB thinks the outcome of the play-in game matters. Whether it’s NYY or BOS, the east coast is getting that prime-time night slot. I’d just like to know how much of the Thursday I’m going to end up missing because of work. Second year in a row budget season is going to completely fuck me.
  5. Man I hope Rodon doesn’t miss this series. Lynn has been very bad against the Astros and it would have been awesome to potentially throw Giolito + Carlos in three of the five games.
  6. Absolute insanity…really hope that happens!
  7. What happens if there is a three way tie for the two wild card spots?
  8. Astros down 1-0 early. Let’s get this shit boys.
  9. Astros down 4-1 in the 6th. Still a small chance we can pull off HFA for the divisional series.
  10. They had to have some plan for 2B when trading Madrigal. I just can’t imagine it was all-in on Hernandez. And Semien seems like the caliber of free agent that is attainable for this franchise and with so many middle infielders hitting free agency this offseason there is bound to be one or two that comes at some level of discount.
  11. Lol…it’s only political because right wing conservatives have made it that way. This a public health & safety issue that should go beyond personal freedoms. People should not have the right to make a dumb decision that can affect the well-being of others. That’s the exact reason we have these things called laws here. But please continue to applaud people who support the right to make uninformed, dangerous decisions.
  12. Just going to post this all-time classic here:
  13. Do we know if these games will be day or night games yet?
  14. Good point. With the Astros coming back to win, odds are now slim to none.
  15. The Astros have the tie-breaker so we’d effectively be 2.5 games back with 4 / 5 to go. We either have to go 4-0 and the Astros goes 2-3 or 3-1 and the Astros go 1-4. It’s theoretically possible, but still going to be a challenge IMO. Unfortunately the Rays bullpen isn’t doing us any favors right now.
  16. Astros losing right now. Still unlikely we can overtake them, but not totally impossible if we can gain a game tonight.
  17. I have barely been here over the last month, but glad to see nothing has changed.
  18. The Mount Rushmore for sound medical advice
  19. This is basically like someone arguing the Earth is flat and Greg demand we respect their differing opinion.
  20. The arguments for vaccine hesitancy are absolutely insane. I don’t trust doctors, scientists, or the government, but I do trust Facebook, Fox News, or random alt-right website. Some people who were vaccinated still got sick and died, so clearly the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. I’m scared about the long-term affects of getting a vaccine, but I don’t care about the longer hauler risk from COVID let alone the immediate risk of death. What a bunch of fucking bullshit and these people deserve zero sympathy from us at this point. Also, for the love of god stop calling the vaccine “the jab”. That’s the same term my wack-job right-wing cousins use to spread vaccine distrust as they cite articles from notoriously fake news sites. There is nothing fucking cute about it and it proves you aren’t pro vaccine.
  21. How often do good QBs leave via free agency? Very few. How many of those QBs who left were actually young? Honestly, I can’t think of anyone who fits that narrative other than Drew Brees. Getting a franchise QB is all that matters at the moment and trading for Fields was a no-brainer for us. No doubt they need to prioritize all resources to building around Fields over the next couple offseasons, but it’s 100% doable with time and hopefully a new regime in place.
