Assuming this is all legit, I’m guessing they’re just verifying medicals given his recent quad injury. That being said, this all feels like he’d join the team tomorrow.

Escobar was pulled late last night despite being 4/5 with five RBIs. When combined with Nightengale’s tweet it seems like this is going to happen as some point today, just curious what the price will end of being. I’m not sure where the Lambert speculation came from, but he did miss his scheduled start last night, so I can see why people are throwing his name around. That being said, it’s also possible (more likely IMO) that the Sox are simply calling him up to pitch today.

Honestly, Escobar to the Sox seems like for a foregone conclusion. The real question is what OF will we trade for as I’m assuming that’s the player that @Blackout Friday is referring to.

Right or wrong, I will say when I think “big” I think our 2020 draft being traded for Mitch Haniger:

This offense really sucks right now, but at least Lynn’s downfall isn’t imminent like some were suggesting.

Blackmon is 34 years old and has been a below average hitter over his last 600 plate appearances. He definitely isn’t the answer.

A ton of players have come out stating they have been vaccinated, but in many cases it is. Obviously if it’s not out there, that doesn’t mean a player isn’t vaccinated, that I agree with. I kind of think vaccination status has to be shareable amongst GMs given the implications it can have on a club.

I assure it’s not the “stat geeks”.

One thing I just thought of is how vaccinations will impact things at the trade deadline. I’d assume players that aren’t vaccinated will come at some discount as it puts downward pressure on total team thresholds. I have not been able to see anywhere online if Escobar has been vaccinated or not.

Fuck yes! At this point, I’d be pushing very hard for an Escobar / Calhoun combo from the DBacks and save the rest of my chips for the bullpen. Kole is about to start a rehab assignment for his hamstring injury, so he should be ready pretty soon. Add those two plus Burger to the mix and you’ve suddenly transformed the lineup from a power perspective and can hopefully survive another month or so until Eloy & Robert come back. Which is great to hear! I know we all want a deal to happen ASAP, but at the same time we don’t want to allow desperation to force Hahn into making a bad deal.

Fully disagree. Development isn’t linear and a hitter as gifted as Vaughn can transform over 200 PAs, especially when his baseline is a 40 wRC+.

I’d be fine with sending down Vaughn if we had other legitimately good options but we don’t. And the issue development wise isn’t sending him down, but rather delaying his learning on how to hit a major league slider which is his primary problem at the moment.

I’ve always been irrationally found of Mendoza, so glad to see him turning things around as I had not noticed that.
