  1. These Grandal walks are definitely more valuable with Vaughn behind him.
  2. I read this as Nick Swisher and almost had a heart attack
  3. I think when Engel comes back maybe you can roll the dice on one of those guys. I’d probably go with Sheets first, but both guys have great splits right now against RHP and both are on the 40 man roster. Give Eaton a couple weeks off and hope he can back a better player.
  4. Well that’s unfortunate, cross Marte off the list then.
  5. I’ve been calling this a slump for a while, but we also are giving too much playing time to non major league hitters in Leury & Hamilton and relying on a hobbled Eaton and developing Vaughn in the corners. Engel will help some no do doubt, but we desperately need an OF bat that can actually hit RHP.
  6. Lol...I’m not disagreeing with you by the way, just pointing out how bad Leury has been. At some point they should just call up one of the Charlotte outfielders, although I’m not sure they will cut bait on any of the veterans this earlier.
  7. They have to add some type of bat full stop and they should try to do so sooner rather than later.
  8. To be fair, he’s still considerably better than Leury even in his broken state.
  9. I’m watching with the sound off, but what’s wrong with Bader? Nothing looked that bad on the replay.
  10. I’m confident they will have better luck the second time through
  11. 116 wRC+ last year and 130 heading into night, so still one of best even with the Sox.
  12. Honestly, at bare minimum they need a utility player upgrade over Leury. Mendick & Engel make him completely redundant and he’s just a terrible hitter. Get an actual left-handed bat and not a guy Tony will continue to play in the wrong matchups.
  13. He’s routinely one of the best offensive catchers in the game
  14. That’s awesome to hear. Everyone has to work rough hours for stretches, but if there isn’t a light at the end of the tunnel you got jump ship. Life is too short to endure that stress, especially if you can find better balance without taking a huge pay cut.
  15. Maybe Tony should sit this series and give someone else on the bench a shot then.
  16. The Sox should move Grandal to the #2 spot in the lineup. Having the slap factory behind him doesn’t work well given how god damn slow he is. The value he provides in drawing walks will work much better with Yoan, Jose, & Mercedes behind him that are capable of hitting the ball out of the park.
  17. I’m expecting nothing overly exciting unless you love yourself some lawyer talk, but what if Hahn announces he is stepping down? The White Sox fan community would erupt in anger as it would confirm Tony is the top dog in the organization.
  18. The position players definitely didn’t bring it this series.
  19. Unfortunately Tony’s not going to do that unless the situation dictates it.
  20. The offense was garbage and the bullpen was bad, but Tony definitely played a large part in Friday’s loss at a minimum.
  21. I will say I don’t think Tony is doing the back-end guys any favor. Hendriks, Bummer, & Heuer shouldn’t go 4 to 7 days between outings or they will fall out of rhythm. Can’t keep saving them for situations that may never happen.
