  1. Yup, pretty much. Still hoping they trade for an OF though.
  2. Here are my new lineup ideas: vs RHP | vs LHP Anderson, SS | Anderson, SS Grandal, C# | Grandal, C# Abreu, 1B | Abreu, 1B Moncada, 3B# | Robert, CF Robert, CF | Vaughn, LF Collins, DH* | Moncada, 3B# Vaughn, LF | Mercedes, DH Eaton, RF* | Engel, RF Madrgial, 2B | Madrgial, 2B Just brutal how much losing Eloy changes the complexion of the lineup.
  3. I wish there was a way to get Austin Meadows, but alas we don’t have the pieces without further impacting the major league roster.
  4. Playing LF isn’t inherently risky unless you are Eloy Jimenez though.
  5. He had incredibly flukey numbers against RHP with bad BB & K rates. He’s a fine 4th OF who can be very good LHP but he’s probably not an everyday player.
  6. Two weak-side platoon guys will fill in finely for a top two hitter on the team?
  7. So is hoping to make the playoffs with Leury or Engel as your everyday LF. Maybe this will cause Vaughn to finally agree to an extension.
  8. At this point, you almost have to and hope that Collins can mash against RHP as the DH.
  9. It’s that or trade Abreu / Vaughn and I’d rather have all three in the lineup until Jose’s contract is up.
  10. He just needs to play a safe LF. Literally stay away from walls & fences and don’t dive. He should be able to survive two years doing that, but it requires our management telling him to do that and Eloy buying into it.
  11. Yup, after seeing that Bernstein tweet, I can’t wait to have Leury & Engel/Hamilton in the OF corners for long stretches this year!
  12. He shouldn’t be trying to steal homers unless it’s the playoffs, let alone in a meaningless spring training game. I get his desire to get better, but it’s really dumb & unfortunate that he felt compelled to do this and it’s going to cost the team as a result.
  13. I’m not commenting on this until I see the extent of the injury, but we’re in big trouble if we lose Eloy for a long period of time. He’s arguably our best hitter heading into 2021 and we have shit depth behind him in the OF.
  14. Would be great if Collins develop into a part-time catcher...I still have hope there but am a little concerned he won’t get an opportunity with us due to Lucroy.
  15. Way too early 2023 White Sox lineup: Anderson, SS Moncada, 3B# Vaughn, 1B Jimenez, DH Grandal, C# Robert, CF Colas, LF* Cespedes, RF Madrigal, 2B Need to draft a prep catcher to eventually replace Grandal and we are set!
  16. Super excited about adding Colas, but it does suck that he’s losing out on a ton of development time due to MLB changing the signing period dates. The good news is he won’t turn 23 until this September, so he’s still young enough to overcome that, although the Sox will still need to be somewhat aggressive with him.
  17. https://francysromero.medium.com/oscar-colas-cuban-prospect-to-sign-with-chicago-white-sox-for-2-7-m-d23950f43d62 Sounds like there was a mini bidding war for him with the Angels offering ~$2.0M and the Mets offering ~$2.5M.
  18. You must be late to the party, but he’s gotten himself into amazing shape. And I don’t think there’s any chance in hell we use Colas as a pitcher, but that plus arm will help even if in LF.
  19. Yup...an all Cuban OF will also be pretty sweet.
