  1. Sullivan already pointed out we nearly doubled our payroll from the 2018 season! Let’s ignore the fact Reinsdorf literally pocketed millions that season and that we are down YoY on what they were prepared to spend pre-COVID, but if this organization is good at one thing it’s using all resources to spin our payroll spending with the casual fans.
  2. I don’t mean from a legal standpoint. Business 101 is you design a product the consumers will want and they will actually spend their money to procure it. If you refuse to invest in your product up front, then in almost all businesses you will fail. Jerry doesn’t get this concept and instead makes KW say dumb shit like “I can’t a dollar if I only have 50 cents” in attempt to blame the fanbase.
  3. What company puts out a shit product and then blames their consumers for not wanting to buy into said shit product?
  4. Can someone start a changeorg petition for him to sell the team? Obviously it will do noting, but I don’t want that cheap fuck feeling like a boss all offseason because he signed the top reliever on the market while ignoring every other need.
  5. Anyone else remember when we were supposed to have “unprecedented financial flexibility”? I guess three B tier free agents ate all that up.
  6. Honestly, I’d be excited for a Mazara addition at this point. It’s clear they aren’t going to spend any real money and Nomar adds some OF depth for dirt cheap. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
  7. Who is using Codify that didn’t previously though? Hendriks & Giolito are already good.
  8. I’m not sure they’re going to keep Lambert in a starter’s role. It’s much more likely Flores is the #8 starter which also isn’t great. I know McClure looked great at instructs but he’s another guy who will be on a tight innings limit.
  9. They are literally gambling an entire season on Katz being our savior with all these young arms instead of spending a measly $6M or so to bring in another starter? It’s beyond mind-boggling.
  10. Remember that one season where they wasted like $25M on Alonso, Jay, & Herrera? That would have been enough for Paxton & Schwarber on one year deals right about now.
  11. So some fun facts about our rotation now that it’s final per Stone: Cease will be our #4 starter and is coming off a 6.36 FIP season where he ranked in the bottom 5th percentile for xwOBA Lopez will be our #5 starter to open the season and is coming off a 7.63 FIP year where he ranked in the bottom 13th percentile for xwOBA Kopech will be our #6 starter and has not pitched in a professional game in 875 days and will be on a strict innings limit Stiever will be our #7 starter and has a total of 6.1 innings above A+ in which he put up a 12.35 FIP while showing underwhelming stuff What could go wrong here?
  12. This has continued to age well ? https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/white-sox/ct-chicago-white-sox-liam-hendriks-jerry-reinsdorf-20210116-rhgupqhn5rhivlpu7xh5jyqnxq-story.html?outputType=amp&__twitter_impression=true
  13. It’s down YoY if you ignore last year’s proration
  14. At bare minimum, the Sox won’t be moving before their lease is up in 2029.
  15. I’d definitely love him as the figurehead of a potential ownership group.
  16. The league would never let the Sox leave at this point and they could care less about cross branding with an NFL team.
  17. How about some local billionaire who actually cares about the city and team? That’s all I need.
  18. Cubs fan can watch Sox games and vice versa, so the potential is always there. And I guarantee that if a new owner came in and spent a little money, we could steal a huge portion of the causal fanbase.
  19. Really wish there was SoxFest this year so fans could go to town on Jerry & the front office.
