  1. Only one K for Moncada, but he’ll definitely have a sac bunt during the middle of the game that doesn’t result in a run being scored. Zero chance Eloy gets hurt today.
  2. Seems like those of you attending should have a decent day weather wise for Chicago in March. I still have nightmares from the last Opening Day I attended that was delayed for several hours and then ultimately cancelled despite the Sox doing the stupid pre-game Chevy bullshit.
  3. I don’t feel smarter than anyone and I don’t need experience to say what I’m saying. I just don’t understand how you refuse to acknowledge that Jerry Reinsdorf literally bussed his 90 year old ass to Springfield to campaign for the 78 site. Like now I think you’re simply trolling again. That being said, I would have happily bought you a beer and discussed further in person tomorrow, but unfortunately have kids spring break this week and am currently out of state.
  4. Is this roster on paper better or worse than the 2018 White Sox? I am legit having a hard time deciding.
  5. You mean when they won? Yeah, maybe some of those were annoying, but you don’t need to get rid of Sox Math altogether as a result.
  6. Does that mean Cannon is in AAA?
  7. Why do people hate Sox Math? I get the jingle as it was legit cringe, but not sure how Sox Math actually impacts anyone who has no interest in partaking.
  8. I moved back to Chicago ? But I personally don’t see much of a burden for Chicago & Illinois taxpayers. I don’t think a few % point of taxes on hotels has much meaning on travel considerations for tourists or conventioners for that matter. And subsidizing property taxes for major sports organizations that provide the area with jobs and other forms of tax revenue doesn’t seem that unreasonable to me. Honestly, I don’t think the state funding these stadiums via a hotel tax has any noticeable impact on the quality of any of our lives. But it would provide us with two much better stadiums / areas to watch and experience Chicago sports in for generations to come. To me, funding these are a no-brainer if they can agree to terms that are a bit more friendly to Illinois taxpayers than the past ones (for example, no free rent when attendance sucks). I’m less concerned about the billionaires receiving handouts because frankly that’s the status quo and I’m not drawing the line with my franchise.
  9. I honestly don’t mean to be a dick, but please take a break from this website and discuss this subject with some real life people. You are struggling to accept the reality of this situation and now are just continually repeating your own made up narrative to appease your personal desires. Jerry Reinsdorf 100% wants to relocate to the south loop full stop…that was confirmed when he went to Springfield to make his case and when the team’s PR people started discussing their plans publicly. I do apologize for the hostility of my past interactions on this subject because I assumed you were just trolling, but at this point it seems like your inability to grasp the situation stems from something much deeper rooted and will require help from non SoxTalk posters to overcome.
  10. Does the majority of hotel taxes get paid by Chicago & Illinois taxpayers?
  11. Bold predictions: Crochet pitchers three innings of scoreless ball Five relievers are used to complete the game Shaw is one of those relievers and gives up three runs Hill also gives up a run, but the other three are perfect Offense only scores one run on a Robert solo shot A base-running gaffe kills our best shot at a rally The defense makes a handful of nice plays Pedro says something really stupid during the post game
  12. What in the world are you talking about? Your need to constantly carry water for this org has you spitting more word vomit than Pedro Grifol.
  13. Who is going to the be the long reliever out of the pen?
  14. Awesome news. Will be interesting to see who gets cut. Lambert maybe?
  15. At least Getz isn’t just going with veterans if they look over the hill.
  16. Might be the single dumbest comment I have ever heard in my entire life
  17. So Nastrini all but locked up a spot in the OD rotation? Once we traded Cease and Kopech to the bullpen, signing Lorenzen seemed like the one last wild card that could possibly prevent that from happening (don’t see us signing Clevinger).
  18. Cease’s spin rate on his 4 seamer was actually higher in 2023 than it was in 2020 & 2019. His slider is mostly the same with 2020 and well above 2019.
  19. We are more than due for a homerun trade and I love the videos I’ve seen of Zavala (plus that .420 OBP) and it just feels like Thorpe is a dude who is going quietly produce #3 SP numbers for a long time.
  20. Having the bullpen pitch five or six innings once every five days week after week on top of covering any other shortfalls from the remaining four guys could prove to be very taxing. And I simply don’t believe Pedro will manage this very effectively, which could result in underperformance and/or these guys getting hurt.
