  1. That’s too rich. I think he ultimately agrees to something around 5/$75M.
  2. I didn’t think club options counted as guaranteed years. Technically I think it should be an $18M AAV, but this contract is basically unprecedented so who the fuck knows.
  3. Depends on how you view the 4th year, but realistically this is 4 year deal with an AAV of $13.5M. But it is the biggest contract given out this offseason which shows pathetic things have been moving.
  4. I don’t think they will sign a DH only guy, it will be someone with some defensive versatility.
  5. Our playoff bullpen should be nasty as fuck, especially if you assume Kopech gets moved there come October: CL: Hendriks SU: Bummer* SU: Kopech SU: Crochet* MR: Marshall MR: Heuer MR: Fry* MR: Foster MR: Lopez/Burdi/Johnson
  6. Need a left-handed bat too, but those two and maybe a backup catcher is all we need.
  7. So is this the largest free agent contract of the offseason? I thought I saw that mentioned somewhere.
  8. Just wasn’t sure why they structured it this way and my post was before they mentioned the deferred element of the buyout.
  9. See the first post. A ton of minor leaguers were cut last summer.
  10. That’s somewhat exciting...he was an over-slot guy correct?
  11. Which may means keeping them for a year and trying to be the first in line next offseason. As long as we have a President in place to help drive near-term personnel decisions while also developing a long-term plan, I could live with those two as lame ducks for a year.
  12. The first thing the Bears need to do is get a legit President of Football Operations. Ted Phillips may be a great business guy, but it’s insulting for him to have any say in our football hires. Pace & Nagy need to go, but I want this new President finding their replacements. In terms of the roster, I’d use 2021 as a reset year and try my best to improve our long-term cap situation. I would definitely let Mitch go and try to bring in a replacement with some potential to pull a Tannehill like Jameis Winston. In the draft, I’d probably target OT at #20 and then WR in the 2nd given the deepness of this WR class. I’d then try to get a high-upside project QB prospect like Jamie Newman in the 3rd that can spend a few years developing before Winston. Reevaluate where things after the 2021 season, but continue to invest in the line and QB positions at the top of the draft and start adding some youth to the defense in the middle & bottom rounds.
  13. You need to let this go...it ain’t happening after the Eaton addition.
  14. We aren’t winning shit in the next two years, so why not start the rebuilding process? Let Mitch go and give some other reclamation project like Winston a shot while also throwing a pick at a QB. Until we get a legit QB nothing else matters.
  15. Unfortunately neither and I took an alternative +17.5 line
  16. The NFL is just way too fast for him and he hasn’t made enough progress in his decision-making to believe that it will suddenly click at some point.
  17. Mooney has actually been pretty good this year, but he’s not a #2 WR (at least not yet) and that’s unfair to put on a 175 Lb 5th round rookie in the first place. The lack of weapons on this offense is incredible though.
  18. This offense is brutal. Pace, Nagy, & Mitch all need to go even if we pull out a miracle today.
