Colome, Bummer, Marshall, Heuer, Foster, & Crotchet doesn’t reflect depth? I mean, Jace Fry is actually a decent middle reliever and he shouldn’t the field until game three at the earliest unless something horribly goes wrong with Gioltio or Keuchel.

We don’t need a 4th starter for this round and I believe you can change your playoff roster for each series.

Zero excuse to not have a 3rd catcher on a 28 man playoff roster if it allows you to play two of your best hitters again LHP.

Hopefully he amps himself up too much and we can take advantage.

Luzardo starting game one ?

It’s going to be fascinating to see which one of Colas or Cespedes they sign as it can really only be one of them. It sounds like Cespedes is the better all-around prospect, but Colas potentially fills a massive hole by offering a left-handed power bat that could slide into RF assuming he’s in good shape.

I don’t think a full bullpen day is realistic if a game three is needed, which means Dunning has to be part of the equation IMO. I’d try to get at least three or four innings out of him before turning over the the bullpen.

We haven’t faced the first two guys much, but here’s how our players have performed in their careers against them: Manaea: .154 OPS across 53 plate appearances Mazara: 4/17, 3 K, 0 BB, 0 XBH, .513 OPS Encarnacion: 1/8, 4 K, 0 BB, 0 XBH, .250 OPS Dyson: 1/9, 0 K, 0 BB, 0 XBH, .222 OPS All Other: 1/19, 5 K, 0 BB, 0 XBH, .125 OPS Bassitt: .314 OPS across 60 plate appearances Abreau: 3/12, 2 K, 0 BB, 0 XBH, .500 OPS Sanchez: 0/8, 3 K, 0 BB, 0 XBH, .000 OPS Anderson: 2/6, 1 K, 0 BB, 2 XBH, 1.000 OPS Moncada: 1/6, 0 K, 0 BB, 0 XBH, .333 OPS Mazara: 1/6, 2 K, 1 BB, 0 XBH, .452 OPS All Other: 2/19, 4 K, 2 BB, 0 XBH, .333 OPS Very small sample sizes, but surprisingly ugly nonetheless. Also, note that none of our hitters have ever faced Luzardo.

RF is not going to be a huge priority? What are the priorities then? And we said the same thing last year after getting epically bad production out of RF and then ended up with Nomar Mazara. It’s time to stop fucking around and at least get a two to three win player for RF. If we’re relying on guys like Leury and Rutherford to be the answer then we’re fucked from the get-go.
