Hodson assuming ownership of this franchise and immediately cleaning is the dream of all dreams. -
Moncada and Clevinger "returned from rehab assignments"
Chicago White Sox replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It’ actually bizarre that Moncada doesn’t want to try and build up his value. He’s potentially costing himself a lot of money by sitting. -
Quero with the 1.000+ OPS at the moment

Let’s give him some time. He just went from the Dodgers to the White Sox…that has to be a demoralizing adjustment.

I just don’t know what we’re expecting from Vaughn. He’s got a 98 wRC+ over his last ~1,000 plate appearances and just seems like a very flawed hitter who will never be part of good core. With only two years of control left, I just don’t feel like he’s worth holding in hopes of finally figuring it out. But if you have a LH 1B & DH, maybe he’s worth using as a platoon option if the salary is cheap enough. -

Bell is definitely an option, but has been very ordinary the past couple of years. But ordinary is probably an upgrade from Vaughn & Sheets. -
If they go out and fix their LatAm operations right now, it will take years before we start seeing any fruits from it. 100% needs to happen, but to your point it’s going to take a long to right this ship. I will say that adding a Director of Hitting and enhancing our general approach to hitting development could have a much quicker payoff, but that’s also much more challenging to execute. And that still doesn’t address the lack of high ceiling positional talent in the system. But when your drafts generally lean heavy pitching and you don’t have a LA pipeline worth a damn, it shouldn’t be surprising we have few of those players.

Crochet cites “mechanical issue” for poor outings
Chicago White Sox replied to WhiteSox2023's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Are they really going to keep him pitching the entire season? I thought they had previously said they would shut him down at some point? -
You’re all good bro. Just let this die down. We have all lost our cool in the moment because of the incompetence of this franchise. The mods are very reasonable and will give you a second chance here if you just let it go. And regardless of anyone’s feelings of Lip, the dude has pretty tough skin. And I generally agree with your view of the Chicago media and being too soft on the Sox, but I actually think we’re seeing some subtle progress there. On Getz’s 45 minute presser / Q&A session, there were definitely a couple heaters asked. I actually think DVS at the SunTimes may have been one of the more aggressive ones (unfamiliar with his voice, but think it was him) which was a refreshing change of pace for the beat writers. Regardless, we need more from them and I can promise you if the media won’t step up and it do its job then it’s up to us fans at SoxFest to hold the org accountable. I plan to be in that line with multiple tough questions for Chris if they give us the shot and I know I won’t be alone.

Let me change my projected lineup for next year. And yes, I think Robert is still going to be here. This cold stretch he’s been on has tanked his value and he’s now a hold for another half season unfortunately. I do think we need to sign one veteran to a short-term contract to help provide him some protection. Vargas, RF Baldwin, SS* Robert, CF Pederson, DH* (FA) Benintendi, LF* Ramos, 3B (May 1st) Quero, CA# (May 1st) TBD - AAAA Type, 1B Sosa, 2B We should have quite a bit of money to spend, but won’t spend it on any big long-term contracts. We also lack real 1B / DH options in the minors (sorry Tim Elko). As such, I’d be willing to overpay for Joc a bit on a one or two year deal to help solve the protection problem for Robert and take some pressure off the youngsters. Open to other ideas like this at 1B / DH as convincing Joc to come here could prove challenging, but it’s really slim pickings in free agency. Also, if we don’t acquire a 1B via trade in a Crochet deal, then I’d simply go out and acquire some AAAA type hitter and give him an opportunity. The thought of giving Andrew Vaughn any more time there is terrifying and I’d rather just roll the dice on a post hype type or an older guy raking in AAA but has never gotten a real chance than go with the guy proven to be bad. And while I’m very much a Elko skeptic, I’d be ok with him being the backup plan for a season. -
Didn’t know where to put this, but since the 4th of July (80 PA sample) Bryan Ramos has been on fire: 133 wRC+ | 12.5% BB rate | 15.0% K rate | .258 ISO | .280 BABIP Kid doesn’t turn 23 until next March. This minor league season has been incredibly tough on the positional side, but it’s probably important to remind ourselves that him and Montgomery are super young for AAA and could in theory do another full season there and still reach the majors as fresh 24 year old’s.
