I can’t remember a poster in all my years here who brought less to the table than Tommy Longo. Like we have to go back to Marty34 to find someone who combined a negative outlook with illogical reasoning for everything they argued. This Gorman/Madrigal bet has got to be one of the single dumbest attempts to rip a player I have ever seen. But this is the internet and people love being dumb, loud, & proud.

This is a ridiculously stupid bet and makes you look like an idiot. Madrigal isn’t a power guy and will likely play only one full season in the minors, with many of those games at Regions Field. The odds of Madrigal hitting 12 to 15 HRs (or wherever Gorman up ends at) in the next few weeks & over the course of next year is slim to none. And guess what, it will mean absolutely nothing in terms of the quality of picks. You really need to step your troll game Longo, because this is a really pathetic effort.

Why have you never been big on Burdi? Health concerns? Kid has a legit 80 grade fastball and two plus secondary offerings. I really, really like Hamilton, but Burdi is pretty much in a league of his own stuff wise.

If healthy, the answer is Burdi without question. He has best reliever in all of baseball type stuff.

I’m sure the reason was stupid, but he’s also a 22 year old kid. To expect him to mature overnight is ridiculous. And what else has he done this season like this?

I’d fire Renteria and bring a guy who might bring some tough love (Girardi could be an option). I’d let the new manager bring on new hitting coaches and hopw different voices get through to him. If after a month next year we see no progress, I’d use that final option and send him down to AAA to work through changes in a low stress environment.

They can sit on his fastball because he uses it too much and is unable to command his secondary pitches well enough. I agree he needs to develop his secondary pitches, which is again why I’m frustrated he gave up his curveball.

Because I’ve seen Lopez when he has three pitches working and he can be dominant. Also, how come you dwell on Lopez’s low spin rate when Giolito has basically the same low spin rate at a much lower velocity. Maybe I’m misinterpreting the stat, but seems like you should be ripping Lucas more for that.

I don’t buy this theory at all. He used to have a bomb-ass curveball and then dropped it for reasons unknown. Either way, his fastball would play up in the pen and I think he can develop the slider enough to be a solid reliever worst case scenario. To think he couldn’t fill a bullpen role of any capacity is quite frankly absurd.

They’re gambling on some post hype prospects. Could work out well for them, but I also think it’s more likely Meadows & Glasnow never live up to their upside. Reminds me a bit of the Sonny Gray trade and that one remains a huge question mark for Oakland.

Hopefully his recent poor performance was related to the bad tooth and he can now finally start swinging at borderline pitches.

The walks are still a problem. Until he gets those under control, he’s still got a ways to go IMO. Thank god he’s got another option and we can be patient.
