Yup, he’s been pretty damn good out there today no matter how many hits he’s given up.

Almost every single hit he’s given up has been of the blooper variety today.

One of Nicky/Palka/Davidson goes for Eloy. I’d just DFA Santiago to make room Kopech and move Shields (or Covey) to the pen.

As far fetched as it seems, I could see this four game winning streak being the catalyst for calling him up a series early.

Honestly, I go back & forth on Palka vs. Nicky. I’d probably lean Delmonico if it were up to me, but I feel like the org will go with Palka. There’s room for both if they cut bait on Davidson, although I don’t see that happening.

Kopech got a guy out trying to steal third and then K’d the next batter. He looks real fucking good.

Kopech looks like an actual pitcher today. Getting ahead in counts and inducing a ton of ground balls. Still sitting 98 to 99 but with quality command of his pitches.

I think it’s the combination of the two. We traded a guy who ultimately became a top 3 prospect in baseball for a pitcher that was beyond terrible. I don’t blame them entirely for giving up Tatis as no one really knew what he was (except maybe Preller) or he would signed for a much higher bonus. Had Shields been even a solid #3 starter I think we could attribute it to bad luck. But as it stands, it generally reeks of desperation & a lack of due diligence on our end.
