  1. We aren’t keeping both Avalin & Cedeno, at least one of them will be moved if not both.
  2. Kopech, Cease, & Adams too, but no huge issues there IMO.
  3. I’m not sure that’s really the case. I mean, he just started for the World Team in CF at the Futures Game. I’ve watched him quite a bit and while he may never be elite out there, he seems to have all the ability in the world to play a solid CF.
  4. It's the best top 30 I can remember in my lifetime other than perhaps the 2000 list (which didn't end well).
  5. Seven top 100 prospect, including five top 50. That’s not too shabby, but I’m going to whine anyways because I don’t see how Basabe doesn’t make the cut but Kyle Lewis does? Basabe is a year young and has greatly outproduced Lewis to date. And I’m not sure the tools are that much different to be honest. Basabe may have a little less power, but he makes up for that in speed. I just don’t see what Basabe has to do to crack one of these lists. I also think it’s nuts Hansen has fallen completely off the list, but I’m willing to give that more of a pass given how bad he’s been since coming back from injury.
  6. Agree, take the lottery ticket with the one exception being a 3B. For example, while I don’t see happening, I would happily take a chance on JD Davis for Soria because we have less depth at 3B.
  7. I would do Abreu & Soria for Alvarez straight up at this point.
  8. We have a top 5 system so that’s going to be much more difficult. But I still think we get a guy who falls into that tier around #15.
  9. Scrap that, former 1st round pick Forrest Wall is actually in the deal and not that Bourchard guy. He was the 13th ranked prospect by MLBPipeline & 7th by Fangraphs (FV 45) coming into the season. This is actually a pretty decent return now for a rental. I’m back to being optimistic about getting a solid return for Soria now!
  10. We’ll certainly find a taker, just seems like the market is flooded with solid rental relievers and it’s becoming a bit more of a buyer’s market.
  11. I don’t disagree with anything you say and am not shitting on the trade from the Red Sox perspective. They got an rare & elite talent during their window and I’m sure they view the deal as a win for them. Having said that, Sale wasn’t going to win here before he hit FA so swapping him out for value during our next projected window made all the sense in the world. The fact we’ll likely end up with more overall WAR (and hopefully substantially more) makes the deal a sure fire win from our perspective.
  12. It’s not that they’ll all work out, it’s the simple fact that they’ll all get extended looks before the ones that bust get removed from the rotation. And by then, Cease, Dunning, Hansen, & maybe even Lambert will be ready for looks. There is no obvious path to a rotation spot for Adams.
  13. I agree, but he could still be a useful long reliever down the road. And even if that role is filled, he still has some trade value. I’d remain patient with him for now.
  14. Give it to Danish...I’d rather keep Adams starting in AAA to be honest.
  15. I can’t wait for the day when filler like Volstad & Santiago is long gone.
  16. Or how about he loses with the Red Sox and then comes home to win one with his new pals, Yoan, Michael, & Luis.
  17. I have respect for Big Game James going out and battling without his prime stuff, but I will most definitely not miss nights like this.
  18. This should have happened at the beginning of the season. The chances of Leury playing a solid CF & developing into a solid trade chip was much better than Engel ever learning how to hit.
