  1. Trade suggestion: White Sox send John Danks and Alejandro DeAza to the Mariners for Nick Franklin, Dustin Ackley and Jesus Montero.
  2. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 08:27 PM) I think that if you trade DeAza you just look for BPA in trade talks. That may sound obvious but I think Hahn was looking for "fit" both out of Santiago and Reed, yet I don't think there would be enough demand to insist on the same in return for DeAza. Boston is looking for another outfielder. Send them DeAza straight up for Ryan Lavarnway. He is blocked by AJP and Ross but would be an improvement over last year's catching disaster.
  3. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 05:10 AM) With about 6 outfielders in the mix for 2014, the Yankees are looking to deal Brett Gardner in exchange for starting pitching. IMO this would be a great opportunity to improve CF both defensively and offensively. One area of strength the Sox do possess is starting pitching. My question for you is what type of package would you put together for New York? http://m.espn.go.com/mlb/story?storyId=10096712 Send them Keppinger and John Danks for Gardner and one of their catchers
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 04:30 AM) I've seen his defense described as really bad and his bat isn't all that good either. On top of that, now that they've lost their 2b, their infield is quite weak. They have ARoid at 3b but he might be suspended, Jeter who is obviously an injury risk, Nunez and Brendan Ryan and then whatever else they sign. If the suspensions go through, the White Sox could send them Keppinger and expect he'd be starting if no one else is added, they're that weak around the IF. Send them Keppinger and John Danks for Brett Gardner and one of their catchers.
  5. QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 1, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) Franklyn Guteriez on the cheap, anyone? I'd rather have Chris Young than Gutierrez!
  6. "Note. The Tigers aren't resigning Cuban Catcher Brayan Pena who is a switch hitter and had an .800 OPS against RHP. He will be 32 in January, 2014 so it's another option ." And He's from Cuba and hit 100 points better than Tyler Flowers
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 12:19 PM) I would definitely be on board with a Beckham and Danks for Lawrie +. I wouldn't know what the plus would be. Lesser prospects? Anthony Gose would be an upgrade in CF and may be available.
  8. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 12:19 PM) Agreed. Santiago for Lawrie, the Jays probably wouldn't do. I think the Sox and Jays match up well for some kind of deal though. How about Santiago, Beckham and Flowers for Lawrie, Gose and Arencibia. Fills holes for both sides as well as change of scenery for the two catchers.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 05:57 AM) Other than Jaramillo...can we name someone with a solid MLB track record who is currently available? How about Charlie Manuel with Jim Thome as assistant, eventually taking over for Manuel.
  10. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 10:21 AM) Jesse Sanchez ‏@JesseSanchezMLB Source: #Cuba prospect Jose Abreu declared a free agent & cleared to sign with a team. Giants among clubs taking a long look at the slugger. Reply Retweet Favorite More Do you think Abreu would have a positive affect on Viciedo? Would that be worth extra $$'s?
  11. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 06:01 PM) Angels are looking for a good cost controlled pitcher and I think Santiago fits the bill. Trumbo would be 28 at the start of next season, so I would think the Angels would have to chip in 2 lower level players. How about Trumbo and Hank Conger for John Danks and Tyler Flowers?
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 7, 2013 -> 08:29 PM) I don't know who that is Alex Liddi was a third base prospect with the Seattle Mariners. He was traded to the Orioles earlier this year. He was recently designated for assignment. He is younger and would be an improvement over Brent Morel. He did very well playing for Italy in the World Baseball Classic. Melky Mesa was a centerfield prospect that the Yankees recently gave up on and released. He would be worth a chance instead of Jared Mitchell at this point.
  13. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 7, 2013 -> 01:48 PM) 40 man roster now at 39. Another call up on the way? Maybe they will claim Alex Liddi or sign Melky Mesa.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 4, 2013 -> 02:21 PM) If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But I think Morel gets traded in the next 26 days. I'd like to see the Sox send Morel to Miami for Chris Coghlan. It would be a change of scenery for both players. Coghlan could be this year's Lillibridge on the bench, playing infield and outfield. Plus he's left-handed.
  15. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Feb 13, 2013 -> 01:11 PM) Mike Carp DFA'd by the Mariners. I'd call him an upgrade on Lars Anderson. Will Sox go for him? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/02/mari...Trade+Rumors%29 They should, He could be the left-hannded impact bat they want at a cheap price. Plus he is young.
  16. QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 04:49 PM) Just curious, but what position would the left handed bat that people are seeking play for the Sox? Kelly Johnson can play 3B, 2B and LF. George Kottaras is a LH catcher. Both would look good in a Sox uniform.
