Got pretty lucky today, but a win is a win.

Yeah this is a classic Bobby Nights plant job. KW trying to give up less for Lynn or Bundy

You can bet it's more teams than that.

Milone gone. No indications the Sox were interested but its moot now.

Lord, if they can get Phelps, do it. The soft parts of the Sox pen are just painful to watch.

Dylan is the most frustrating kind of pitcher, one with overpowering stuff that is allergic to throwing strikes.

Realistically, this period was supposed to be over in June, but because of COVID was extended when the last period got pushed to Jan of 21. Effectively, anyone who could be signed, was already signed because the full expectation was that the class would be over with at this point. We are also talking about $243k worth of space, in an environment where the flowers have all been picked, and the weeds remain. This has no effect on the big class we are looking at for next year.
yeah, I didn't know two things when I made the post:
1. It's for 19/20
2. It's their entire remaining pool
Totally fine with it now, tbh.

Keep doing what?
Giving up intl money. This is less egregious than the Nate Jones deal for example, but it's still baffling that they are just giving away cap space.

I think Dunning by himself shows more return over the next few years. The Sox do not need to be in the sacrifice the future to win now mode. They've spent 4 years on this rebuild. Don't get impatient now.
Strong agree. I'd much rather stand pat than throw in big on a season that may or may not finish.

So I wasn't paying attention all night and I saw Lucas was close to a Maddux and I thought, no way he gets it, too close to 100 in the 9th. Then I saw the hits column.

Screw the Cubs, i'm ready for the Sox to eclipse the Twins.

It's fun but with Rodon and Bummer as questionable to return this season and Cease underperforming, things are pretty thin rn. I have a lot more faith in the offense continuing to perform than the pitching.

Didn't they say Grandal's foot was bothering him? Same with Mazara apparently. Beginning to see the limitations on this roster as we get two months of injuries compressed into two weeks.
-
If Edwin continues to look dead-win then I have no doubt Yermin will be back, if only to back up Collins as the DH.

This is the ideal usage for Ross Detwiler.

Nicky Magic cannot be stopped

eventually, the Royals had to make a mistake in their plan to load the bases with Sox every inning and come away clean.

One of the Sox twitter people posted about the strike zone this series and well, it hasn't been good. At least we got the good end of that one.

Also will lead to a lot of double plays
The Sox solution is to have no one get on base ever.

I think we are all in agreement. Delmonico is a likeable guy who we don't want to see in our lineup anymore.
They should make him a mascot and stop pre-conceding plate appearances.

32 wins is the new 90 wins, but since the playoffs are so expanded, I think at least one sub-.500 team will make it.
So lets say 28. I think one 28 win team will make the playoffs.

I am interested in the plan for Gio. Can he pitch multiple days in a row? When he signed, did they tell him he wouldn't be starting? Is he slightly injured? I am a little surprised Lopez is the #3.
According to Hahn, he will provide "Length and insurance" out of the bullpen, so basically, he's first up if anyone is hurt or bad. At least, that's how I read it.
