  1. Here is something interesting, this guy my brother knows is a friend of Mayhews in Detroit, he thinks the Lions will draft DJ Raji with the 1st pick. Could be a weird and interesting 1st round.
  2. QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 01:44 AM) Gophers kept it close against OSU today, but fell again. We really need to improve our offense if we have any hope of doing anything this year, although seeing Hoff make some shots was a damn nice thing. Felix, the Gophers are very much improved, but dude, if they don`t figure out how to do a better job rebounding, they will continue to struggle against teams with bigs in the paint. Good luck the rest of the way.
  3. A bit high for Flowers, a bit low for Poreda, IMHO.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 07:42 AM) Actually, he went to Mississippi. My bad.
  5. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 10:51 AM) NU was 9-28 from the arc against MSU, that's not why they won. The 18 turnovers for MSU were a far bigger reason, especially when NU only had 7. I agree the turnovers were the big difference, especially considering the cats outscored us by 20 points off TO`s. Holding MSU to only a 2 point advantage on fast break points also was big. But in the 2nd half, NW was 5 of 12 from distance, and I believe that Moore hit 2 huge ones near the end. It is nice to see Northwestern and Penn State having some success after a bit of a rough road.
  6. Well, Northwestern and Penn St. showed everyone how to beat Sparty, hoist up a boatload of threes, and hope 6 out of 10 fall.
  7. My brother (Cub Fan) posed this question to me for some hypothetical fun. " Would you trade beckham for Vitters straight up"? So people of Soxtalk nation, would ya?
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 10:51 AM) He's actually ranked 4th overall, looking at the list. I might put him 1 or 2 lower, but, overall, that seems about right for him. His team beats expectations almost every year, he has 2 divisions in 8 seasons, 1 championship, and only one season with less than 80 wins. How many other teams can say all those things? I'm guessing the Yankees are about it. and until 2006, he did that with relatively low payrolls. You think we beat expectations in 06 and 07? Quit tokin on the hype pipe, will ya.
  9. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 01:22 PM) Yea I really think people are sleeping on Viciedo hard core. From the amount of money he got (and the interest from teams like the Yankees) I would think he would have been a top #10 pick in this year's draft. So he's overweight? He's 19 years old for god's sake. Give him a year or two with a professional training staff, a personal chef, and the pride of being a cuban MLB player and I think he'll be a bronze titan soon enough. Most non-track athletes (football players, baseball players, basketball big men) are a bit soft in their late teens. I see no worry here. Plus the Sox are expecting him to compete for a starting 3B spot as a 19 year old! That speaks to the lack of any real options in the org, but it also speaks to how advanced Danny is for his age. boy that koolaid must taste good.
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 06:35 PM) In other news, Ed Hightower is still a terrible official. The problem with Ed Hightower, is that he thinks everyone paid admission to watch Ed Hightower. Ever notice how games his crew officiate, almost always go 30 to 40 minutes longer on average.
