  1. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 08:31 AM) My laptop suddenly went into a cycle where it will just continuously reboot. I tried all flavors of safe mode, normal, and to last known configuration and it keeps cycling around. It has Win XP home. I checked for stuck input devices including the keyboard. The only way to stop it is to pull the power. My anti-virus is up to date and I assume had been running. Maybe something is wrong with the power supply?
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) Well it would be nice to have an outlet on TV or radio to be able to hear about my favorite team. I live in Chicago and the only coverage I get is the pre and post game show on AM 1000. ESPN TV is a joke. They only care about the AL East. I'm pretty much stuck with the Internet to get White Sox info. The last few weeks the cubs fans have been complaining about all the Score talks about is the Sox..They even named it the "clever" WSOX I listened to the station on Friday after the Sox won and all they talked about was the Sox..I don't know..Maybe you could've called and started Sox discussion
  3. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) J.Hood is a cub loving kiss ass i cannot stand him on radio, I was happy he was shipped to weekends he sucks. J.Hood is the biggest Sox fan on the station..I remember listening to him a few weeks ago after a Sox win and he was about to hyperventilate he was so ecstatic.. Didn't hear the broadcast, but huge Sox fan...Been listening him for a few years now

    QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) great show. great idea. i wish a major network would have picked it up though. Actually I'm glad it wasn't picked up by a major net...Being on FX he would have more freedom and have it the way he wanted with out being over the top..If Fox have picked it up how the show would've turned out.
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) That was a disgusting game. I will take it, but disgusting. Duh
  6. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) see, that's a positive post. we can say the same thing in jabroni-reindorf language: our best prospect just got rocked by the worst team in the AL, we suck. Vizcaino sucks, ozzie is an idiot, hermy is gonna blow it. Right On...
  7. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) good post, unfortunately it won't get through to the ones that it needs to. That's my feelings..I've been thinking what he said for months now...We want our team to be absolutely perfect team..There is no perfect team.. You jut got to suck it up and back up a bit and take things in perspective.. Gonna be 25 games over .55(hopefully) Uhh, I'll take that
  8. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) Clearly, at this point the Sox, Twins Cleveland will be above .500 the rest of the way. The tigres are 33-33, and the Royals are playing better. Check out the standings and I think the argument can be made, although the NL East is pretty good too. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings I think it is the best div..when you look at the top 5 pitching staffs in the AL..ERA wise, 4 of them or in the Central division...That's incredible
  9. QUOTE(KansasSoxFan @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) I didn't see any place for new users to introduce themselves, so I'm doing it here. I have been lurking for a while and finally decided to join. Since I live in Kansas, I don't get to see many Sox games, so I find myself checking out the boards here a lot. Anyway, I thought I'd share my memories of my first Sox game in person (so I can keep this post on topic of course! ): It was 1984. I remember because there was still a lot of excitement in the city about the Sox after they won the division in '83. I must have been in 6th grade at the time. My family got tickets to a game because the Sox were running a promotion through my grade school. I think it was, if you get good grades then you can get a discount to selected games. We chose a night game against Detroit. We sat in the left field bleachers, lower deck, somewhere towards the back corner. During the game, Greg Luzinski came up to the plate. He hit a really high fly ball to left and I quickly lost sight of it because the upper deck blocked my view. I thought it landed in the upper deck, but then I hear everyone at the park chanting something. At first I think it sounds like "Oooh! Oooh!", but then I managed to get a glimpse of the scoreboard in center field. It had a picture of a bulldog saying "ROOF ROOF". Then I got it....Luzinski hit it onto the roof of the upper deck bleachers! Wow! I started shouting "Roof!" along with everyone else. Later in the game, a Detroit player also hit a high homer to left. I read later that his also landed on the roof. Didn't matter though -- the Sox still won in the end! We all had a great time. That was my first live Sox game. Sometimes I wonder if my memory is playing tricks on me. Two roof shots in at one game?! That must have been really rare. What's up..welcome. nice story.. Your cable or satellite don't offer baseball packages? just wonderin

    QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 11:57 PM) I figured with you liking deadwood and all that you would of been way into this. This blows deadwood away, imo, but it doesn't have all the "cocksuckers" that deadwood has. I watched like 15 minutes of Deadwood and I swear they said cocksucker 100 times They cut down on the cocksuckers in the 2nd season by 3 or 4 times..but I do love my Deadwood...

When i waste money its on crappy gadgets..and renting movies..I could probably get a Mercedes with all the money I saved from not renting

She loves to spite me by going in and erasing stuff I have on there I've been watching Into the West (haven't seen this weeks episode yet) but I loved the 1st episode. Its a pretty badass show/movie, imo. I was thinking about watching it, but I saw it's all long and s*** and seemed like work to watch it I like thinks like the old west and s***, so maybe I'll catch it on the rebound.. maybe if it had an Egyptian pharaoh in it i would've watched

    QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) I bought a $250 SLam Man. I used to box, and thought it would get me back into shape, and take out some aggression as well. After about a week, I tore my rotator cuff, and never used it again. I put my dirty shirts on it until I can take them to the laundry. Looks kinda creepy at night. Is that like a punching bag? I have a this old ass punching bag from the 70s..it weighs like 200 pounds..I have it in storge..Its ugly.. I have boxing gloves from like 5 years ago that i got as a gift..they collect dust too

    QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) Was that the first episode? I've been meaning to catch it. Plus you have the Shield (I think its finale is this week??) and than Rescue Me starts back up. This was the first ep, but it was a re-run...it premiered last WED I think..the next new one is this WED at 9 central and the Shield finale was last week...season is over..kinda lame season finale though in my opinion I think they're re-airing it tomorrow at 9 central and after that I don't see any re-airings..

    Pyramids

    QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) Slave Labor. Pretty much everyone alive during that time and around them was essentially forced. Or at least thats my theory. Although Aliens would be way cooler. They used both slave labor and regular Egyptian workers...They unearthed little villages where the workers lived, just a mile or less from work sites..They had to have skilled workers for the precision stuff.

    Pyramids

    LOL, I wish I was in that conversation... I'm guessing aliens..But I watch every show on Discovery,NGC, and such that has to do with Egypt and they gave several theories..They basically has 30'000 workers drag blocks on ski-like things and dragged them fro the quarry..They had speculated that they also had the way where you put logs sliders underneath the block and roll it, but I heard they didn't use that technique..who knows
  23. Oh, and can someone move this..didn't even notice I was in palehose..lol
