Not every team can buy a championship like the cubs. Just think of how creative our front office has had to be the last 15 years. Always a piece or two short, betting on bargain veterans having bouncebacks, all due to financial restraints. Our biggest contract is still 66M and we play in Chicago. Trust me when I say there will always be plenty of teams willing to back the prospect truck up to get Q, so waiting for that truck is fine. Every team needs a 5-6 WAR LH SP in his prime at $10M, especially teams like us and the Pitates. Value won't be going down at all if we wait into the season. I bet it goes up. Think about all the tight races that will be happening in May/June. Each one of those GMs AND owners knows that any team could snatch up Q at any moment. Value through the roof. "s*** what if they get Quintana they might pull away. What if we got Quintana? Call Hahn offer Bregman, I want to go for this sucker this year!" I'm fine waiting until the pressure of being in races starts hitting some clubs. I predict a Mid-May to Mid-June trade and might prefer that.

Sounds like a deep package you guys are drooling over. What are the odds that package satisfies us fans for the long haul. Who would you bet to be the Allstar that comes closest to mathing Q-level WAR?

It's asking the low middle class, independent contractor guy with no subsidies to sock away 6k to cover his deductible and OOPMax that is insane. Forget it if he has a family and his wife gets sick for awhile. Lemme go grab that 15k real quick..meanwhile the average American has less than 6k in savings. God forbid the anesthesiologist for your surgery is out of network. Out of network caps can be 30k if I'm not mistaken. Each carrier decides. I work with 100s of these people. What sucks is that deducts all used to be $500-$1000. Now you gotta pay to play. People aren't going to get things checked out because they are probably going to have to foot the whole bill with these high-ass deducts. Saying Obamacare needs tweaks is an understatement. Not being partisan, just American. Please correct any misinformation on my end.

I hope saladino gets all the playing time at 2B before Moncada. Lawrie does nothing for me, especially now that we are rebuilding.

Interesting but aren't all the points in favor of emulating these countries completely moot based on population, geography and demographics? Norway & Finland have like 5 Million people each and Sweden almost 10. That's it. And the vast majority in each country basically all live in the same climate. And they are almost entirely white. Immigration of late has made a dent but these are arguably the whitest countries on earth. And they are almost all Protestants. So how is the most racially, ethinically, geographically, culturally, religiously diverse nation supposed to please everybody like these homogenous white mini-countries? Not to mention we have like 60x the population of Finland and Norway, 30x that of Sweden, and the people are spread out over thousands of miles of completely different climates & resource areas. Every nation, race & culture has settled more people here over the years than those current populations combined. My point is that it's easy to please everybody when everybody is the same, lives in the same place & there is no racial tension. There are more people in greater Chicago than these countries and much more diverse. Socialist ideas may work for 5 million white protestants in Finland who live in the same area but wtf does that have to do with our giant melting pot and oppressive history. The idea of emulating them just pisses me off when i think about it realistically. It's kind of racist.

Why do so many people, including our current president, always say something to the effect of "Look at Finland, Sweden & Norway- they do this social program correctly! We should emulate that!" I don't get it at all. How is that ever a logical talking point as far as emulation? I'm down for being convinced otherwise- just curious for opinions contrary to mine.

I guess I don't understand the uproar over any of the Russian election stuff, particularly that the election shouldn't be valid because of it. I mean, I found it interesting as hell and super disturbing at the same time that Bernie never had a chance. Or that Citigroup picked Obama's cabinet for him basically. Or that Hillary was getting debate questions abead of time. Or that the media was asking for Hillary's approval for stories. Or even O'Keefe uncovering the bird-dogging etc. Blame the messenger all you want, but the real story is the corruption. I'm happy for the American people that some of the stink got exposed finally. All because some people were sloppy being stinky.

I want 2017 to be a total tank for Beer/#1 pick. But more importantly, the Sox could have a roster of mostly Sox prospects pre-trades. Finally have the opportunity to see if some of our guys are some hidden gems. 1B- Abreu 2B- Saladino SS- Anderson 3B- Davidson/Delmonico DH- Avi/Davidson/Delmonico C- Narvaez/Smith OF- Engel OF- Tilson OF- May OF- Coats IF- Alvarez IF- Hayes IF- Peter More or less that until the break.
