QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 01:04 PM) I bet the numbers will ultimately surprise here come election day. I think Trump gets a huge bump from the "anti-Trump, but REALLY anti-Hillary" group. I agree with you here and the media is going to have their hands full trying to make people like Hillary. So far they've focused on making the country hate Trump enough to just vote for Hillary. But as the election gets closer and maybe Trump destroys her in debates, the media might have to switch tactics to convince people to like her. Like you alluded to- bottom line- the country doesn't want Hillary freaking Clinton in charge of everything. Mercy.

White sox may be reconsidering their stance of being non sellers

Is Q for Seager a good starting point for talks? Who needs to add more? -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 02:09 PM) Correct, but to compare Baez and Avi as prospects is beyond ridiculous. Baez was a top 10 prospect in the game. Top 5 by many. Most teams don't sign a guy or guys that could keep that prospect blocked for several years. If Schwarber was around, he probably plays even less. I doubt Theo was anticipating year ending injuries the first week of the season. All I am saying is if they were sold on him being a great player, they don't acquire blockage. They create a spot for him whether they are trying to win a WS or not. Or if they think he will initially struggle , they may sign some sort of stopgap. Not a guy like Zobrist. He certainly didn't spend much money on his bullpen. I don't look at that part of the team as say this looks like the bullpen of a WS winner. Super spot on post. No debating any of that really. And like you said, there's a very very very likely chance he would get exposed if he played every day. Methinks they have been protecting him from good RHP exposure to flip him at the deadline.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 19, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) I'd quit being a Sox fan if this happened. For real. Preston and Teoscar= meh.

Seems most of our affiliates are getting tons of hits most games. Definitely nice to see this batheaviness.

Just watched Bregman play in person last night. He is quick with the bat and the ball definitely sounds & jumps off his bat differently than most of the other guys playing. Looked super slick fielding at SS. But damn is he young looking. Also, I see Joey Gallo alot and that dude just sucks IMO. He's a super timid first baseman in that he's kinda scared for his foot during close plays at first. Plus he just swings for the fences every swing- extreme pull, boom or bust type. Chris Carter

Can't trade Sale, Harper etc without winning the trade on paper. All GMs know this so the potential hauls would be nintendo style. I love Chris and it's retarded to trade a HOFer but the idea of adding tons of top guys to our blossoming system sounds fun

I want Fulmer's first batter faced to be Mike Trout. Would be the hugest confidence booster if he got him out -
Carson Fulmer Getting Called Up?
Jerksticks replied to YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
http://www.baseballamerica.com/statistics/...cards/95859/log So if you check out BA's page on Fulmer one thing that sticks out is his strike percentage. Perhaps the blatant increase can be explained by him working on something the first part of the year (like throw only changeups, pound the bottom of the zone, pitch only inside etc.). So maybe the more finished product has been unleashed the last month+. We'll see. For comparison's sake, Jose Quintana is hovering around a 62-63 strike%. -

Wow! So what's the rotation schedule to start the second half? -
QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 12:09 PM) Good thing they didnt plan for this at all in the month he had already been gone. Ridiculous. This has to be trolling but I'll bite. You present this like the front office said "Ajax is hurt, let's plug in Shuck amd count on 100% recovery from Ajax quickly. No need to try to improve the glaring hole." They've been trying to get an amazing center fielder long before the Jackson signing and the search hasn't stopped since they signed him. It's ludicrous to think that because of a media report NOW we know the White Sox are looking for a CFer. They've been looking for about 19 years.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 11, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) The early early to mid 00 spurs made me not like NBA basketball, the 2011-2013 spurs made me love it again. Well said. Ray Allen?

The guy lately who's been mentioning caulfield vs. keyboards is funny.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 3, 2016 -> 06:49 AM) Wha ..? No winners thread ? Classic see saw battle. Sox go for 4th series win in a row with Q on the bump. Theme song for the win is the Moody Blues " Ride My See-Saw" ( one of their best rocking songs IMO ) Haha funny! I also think it would be epic if we all got together sometime and sang "Knights" in White Satin. Just picturing all these dudes screaming "and I Love youuu!!!" at the white sox is funny to me.

I really think he's an MLB starting shortstop. Glad we have him as spare parts.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 08:53 AM) Davidson seems to me to be a guy that will do better in the majors than the minors. I have no rationale as to why but I think he will perform better. If he can play first base that would be huge because Abreu is an absolute butcher over there. Totally agree. Maybe something to do with guys being too wild in the minors and forcing too much just to get hits

What's his repertoire that's striking out all these batters? I think he only pitched one inning tonight since his promotion to Bham. Any thoughts if the Sox want him to log some reliever innings to see if he can help this year as a long man? Seems like a special case where that might work- must have electric stuff to get those K totals. Bobby Jenks 2.0?

QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 09:20 PM) Robin actually looked like a Manager when he went out to mound after Robertson walked Ortiz. Looked like a leader. Thought the same thing. "I don't care about that guy. Don't even acknowledge his presence on first."

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 09:08 AM) You seem to paint people with a broad brush there, brotha. Allow me to point out the obvious when I say not all teachers/cops and firemen are malformed drunken f***ups, fyi. For sure. But it's hard to ignore the fact that the people who take public jobs get to vote. They never had to put their balls out there so to speak. So I feel like if one chooses the easy way out, one's opinion should be of gratitude and thanks to the people who sweat in the jungle every day and get things done for their salary. They shouldn't be self-righteous & condescending to the free-market men & women. The professors and hipsters love to rap on pollution, the environment, green energy, rag on oil etc. All that stuff is nice in utopialand but it's not realistic; everything is oil. While they ride their bicycle to work, they're forgetting that most of their bike components are made from oil, their clothes are made from oil, their toothbrush @ toothpaste oil, all the packaging from amazon prime is oil, everything in those boxes is oil, all the goods at their local amazon warehouse arrived in big greasy, oil-made-and-fueled trucks which drove on oil-made roads. Oil is the reason their clothes have color & why they can drink starbucks & finger their oil-based laptops. Oil is the only reason IKEA exists. Oil is the reason we all get cancers and need big pharma & high-paid doctors. I'm all for solutions but we aren't close as a society, so until then, shut up about your bicycle & public-dime job like you're making more of a difference.

The haughtiness of popular media is out of control. Daily show, nbcnews, academia etc. they basically all tell you that you are a complete idiot if you aren't a bleeding-heart liberal. I can't take it any more. Nobody is right, but why am i a total idiot if i tend to think the path less traveled makes some interesting points. I think the reason academia leans hard left has something to do with never having to fight for their dollars in the world. You go to school for 11 years to get a PHD, rack up 100s of thousands in debt, live off the government loans during that time, and then kiss up to a board of trustees or whatever to get your tenure. That earns you the right to make tons of money without ever having to enter the jungle of the real world, never experiencing supply & demand, never having to struggle and make something of yourseld, never having to take any risk, and finally, the right to say your opinions are gold because it was "such a struggle" living off the taxpayers dime for 11 years. What a bunch of baloney. If you want to teach, that's awesome, it's a sacrifice. It's not a reason to be a haughty superbrain. Walk just one mile in the real world before you trash the free market.
