Laroche is Dunn. Thanks bro! So cool you can hit them far man! Cool! It's even beautiful when they go back before the warning track. Beautiful height to those shots. Thanks for the quality ABs!

I can't believe I'm 30 yrs old. 2005 was the absolute coolest thing I've ever been a part of.

Maybe it's just a really nice time to give the horse a little break- he's been chasing those bandits through the desert without much rest & water. -
QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 08:54 AM) This is ridiculous .... Baines, Konerko and Minoso shouldn't have even been considered. Minnie was the most popular player for a very long time. Most people older than 60 adored Minnie growing up.

What's Jeff's trade package looking like as of today? Any news? Pics?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 07:02 AM) As crazy as it seems, the Sox still have a shot. I know the old 7 or 8 teams they have to leapfrog for A WC berth, but 5 or 6 of those or only 2 games ahead. Get some offense, something might happen. We can pass most of these teams by sunday. Never understood that line of thinking in any month not named september.

I feel like people on here forget how good the teams all looked on paper going into the seasons 2009 and beyond. Our superstars failed us or got freak injured- quit hanging KW out to dry and get the f*** over it. CQ ruined his career when he broke his hand but how the hell could anybody know that at the time? Peavy was a BAMF. Rios was free and finally solidified CF. PK in his end prime years. Who the hell would blow that kind of team up and rebuild? We were stacked. Mercy.

Is Davidson starting to figure something out a bit? I like that Charlotte lineup. Maybe other teams are pitching around him.

Nice job Rick. Way to not take the bait. Man the media is just made up of absolutely awful human beings it seems like. It's almost like in I think Blankman (LOFL) where they throw darts at a board of topics to create a story. It sucks that media goes out of its way to try to put rifts between important figures. f*** I wish they'd stick up for them instead. But being nice doesn't get readers' atttention like controversy. f***ing punks with a punk-ass job.

And that's a White Sox Winner !!

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2015 -> 03:24 AM) Nice post. It's the first one praising Danks some. Greg man we all are aware of Danks' great outings. I'm with you bro. It's too bad he can't seem to pitch without his best stuff. I mean c'mon man he gets absolutely shelled when he's off and we pretty much have no chance to win. Seems like he's never just decent anymore. Totally hit or totally miss. And completely unwatchable when it's a miss. You gotta see how that frustrates the heck outa some folks right? Nice game tonight. -
More evidence of Chicago media turning on Ventura

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 2, 2015 -> 09:21 PM) Alexei's D has been dropping off from year to year, so you can't just say this is some unexplainable act of God. Melky and Samardizija both had similar rough seasons just in 2013, so I don't see how this completely out of a standard deviation for them. Either way, those two players aren't the only thing keeping this team from being a contender. I mention Flowers & Beckham because they are on the roster and have to start the majority of the time. That's not Robin's fault, he didn't make up the roster. Then who's fault is it? Maybe the people who put together the roster? The people who acquired both years ago and are too stubborn to give up on them? Fault is a weird word to use. I mean we are in the middle of a short retooling process. We had a shot on paper this year but it didn't work out. Clearly we aren't ready at 2b 3b or C yet. So what? Why does somebody have to PAY FOR THIS? Why does a career have to end because of this. Insanity. Stay the course boys, jerksticks loves ya! -
Who do you want to see replace Robin as manager of the Sox?
Jerksticks replied to Boopa1219's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 2, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) I have been a pretty big Robin supporter over the course of his tenure but after the past 10 games I have had enough, I think that White Sox should part ways with Robin Ventura. Getting rid of Robin won't solve all the problems that plague the team but it would be a step in the right direction. I really want Rick Hahn to hire his own manager and with that manager establish a culture of winning, where they teach and approach the game the same way throughout the entire organization (DSL to MLB). Let me start off by mentioning two names: Bo Porter and Brandon Hyde. Porter was the manager of the Astros from 2013 to 2014, I think that despite the fact that the Astros were clearly tanking (to steal an NBA term) and= had a terrible roster, they still played pretty hard and played from the games that I have seen. And he taught the young players on the team how to play the right way, he deserves credit for the way the Astros are playing now in my opinion. When he was looking for a manager GM Jeff Luhnow wanted a guy that was akin to Joe Maddon, and those guidelines lead him to Porter, who also is not afraid to bring sabremetrics into the dugout. Lunhow said, “Bo understands and appreciates the effect technology and the analytical side has had on the game... He wants to not only accept it, but take it and let it impact the organization. I think he will help us continue to apply some of the things we’ve been working on.” Reports about Porter being too intense and his displeasure with his overall involvement in the org's decisions came out around the time of his firing. I think that Porter would bring some forward thinking to the dugout and an intense mentality to the team, while bringing his track record in player development with him. Brandon Hyde is a former White Sox farmhand. He managed in the Marlins farm system from 2005 to 2009. He became the Marlin's bench coach in 2010 and served as their interim manager in 2011. In 2012 Theo brought him over to the Cubs, where he was the farm director and the Director of Player Development, he served as Rick Renteria's bench coach and he is currently the Cub's first base coach under Joe Maddon. Rant Sports had this to say about Hyde, "Hyde is known as a great strategist and a true student of the game. In fact, one exec even went so far as to tell me, 'He can flat manage a game. If it had to go down to it, I would want him managing my Game 7.' Hyde is also known for maintaining great relationships with his players, and he has a successful background in developing young players, which could make him attractive to a team in rebuilding mode." Mentor Jack Mckeon had this to say about Hyde, "When I took the (manager's) job to finish (2011), I thought he'd have a chance to replace me... He was very-well prepared, very aggressive. He wasn't afraid to jump on somebody if they needed to be jumped on, which a lot of coaches don't want to do. But he was on top of the game. He was always keeping me sharp on what you want to do, in situations he was always ready for advice. He was ahead of the game." That's some pretty high praise. THis is someone who has worked their way up the ladder and despite being 41 years old, he has extensive experience in the dugout alongside of the modern greats and he comes from a player development background. These are just the first two guys that popped into my head. Who do you want the team to hire as their next manager? What kind of qualities do you want to next manager to have? So today is the day to finally start talking about this? -

Exactly, it's the guys on the roster that's the obvious problem. I just feel bad for the knee-jerk people that need somebody to pay for these atrocious sins of losing baseball. What's up with that attitude? It's the same type of person that actually uses their car horn and gets mad on the road for some weird reason. Impatience is one of the worst traits a man can have, bottom line. It does him no positive service. Rick Hahn and the FO have done a wonderful job transitioning from the 05 swan song tire-fire teams to this new young core. Give it a few more years folks. -
Chris Sale is the most bestest pitcher evar!
Jerksticks replied to Rowand44's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 1, 2015 -> 07:15 PM) The fact that Sale is 16 over .500 with the teams he has been on is pretty impressive in itself and I don't really care about wins. The man is seriously only thing that gives me hope for the upcoming years. Another Danks hater. -
QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Jun 29, 2015 -> 11:06 PM) I was really hoping to see some offense from Cleuluis Rondon. He's got a .461 OPS and just 17 BB to 48 SO in 245 ABs this year. That's pretty awful. That's pretty much what any of our stats would be. Even us dudes would luck into some cheapies and take a few walks when somebody is throwing s***balls.

Yes I think intentionally losing for 5 years when you have arguably the second biggest fanbase is cheating. Busch all around. Taking a dump on all the hard work the small market teams do and adding flies to the pile by handing Lester a cool 150. Way to go cubs.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) Well, then isn't it on the GM to find the RIGHT players who are internally-motivated, knowing their manager isn't exactly noted in this regard? It seems the rest of the season, we'll be going round and round in circles between the players, manager, coaching staff, Hahn, KW and Reinsdorf (organizational culture/loyalty) assessing blame. Should get old fast, since we've already spent the first half of the season on that same discussion and argument. Blame? There's nobody to blame. Just too many black holes still it seems. I'm sure Dr. Hahn will be operating soon.

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 22, 2015 -> 11:26 PM) Reality bites. Yea it sucks he doesn't know how to play the game and shorten his swing. His stats just stink to high-heaven of a guy who thinks "chicks dig the long ball, forget my teamates".

QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Jun 22, 2015 -> 11:53 PM) Davidson does have a 113 wRC+ in AAA. Is he really doing that badly? It's fake IMO. Same reason people would say Dunn was productive. We don't need any more useless high strikeout, power once a week guys. Can't we just get some f***ing baseball players that shoot gaps n wear down pitchers. f*** Davidson & f*** laroche & f*** adam dunn who ruined PKs last 4 yrs.
-
I'm curious why he's having TJ though. Is it a Strasburgian type of preemptive move? It's cool I just think that would be a first for the White Sox, buiding a Jax/Bionic Commando as far as I know. I like it.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 21, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) The Hickman they just drafted and signed? Yea the Sox ACE guy. Wtf?

Anybody have some intelligence on this? Did he tear something or is this the White Sox Strasburging it?

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 07:47 PM) I think I would rather punch myself in the nuts multiple times than watch bad baseball. I'd definitely rather watch some dude on youtube punch himself repeatedly in the nuts. Post a link when it's up

It sucks that the cubs basically cheated to acquire all of these hitters. It's BS. Truth

It's really just a damn shame we suck.
