    Grilling

I have a simple recipe that will make you look like a grill god in the eyes of men: Cut a fresh jalapeno lengthwise in half and cut out the guts. Then cut those 2 halves in half the other way to create 8 little "boats". Smash a nice helping of the Philadelphia cream cheese in each boat & wrap each boat in a full piece of bacon. Send a skewer through those puppies, maybe 4 per skewer, spaced nicely and grill. The spacing is key so the skewed sides of bacon cook fully. Just spin them every few minutes. So simple but damn is it good. Anybody else ever do this?
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 28, 2015 -> 09:14 AM) Tv is wgn. Let's sweep today please. This game should be lopsided. Ahh like a laugher? I like that
  4. Maybe Gordon is starting because he actually looks like a badass thirdbaseman. Cmon Gordo just go back to cranking doubles down the lines like you did 14 years ago.
  5. I'm a loyal fan but sure as s*** ain't proud of it. It's just what I am- I root for the Sox. Anybody else that likes the Sox, sweet! Pride in sports fandom is something we all grow out of as we age as men. "NO I'm a better fan!" Lol.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 23, 2015 -> 11:36 AM) And of course that is all because of his knee, yet he hurt his knee in Oakland and did fine on Sunday. Yea man. What's really funny about this thread is all the people acting like resting him a day after the walk was common sense. So yea, duh, our FO obviously thought of that, thank you for your hindsight, now please clear the space.
  7. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ May 23, 2015 -> 06:51 PM) This belongs in the Ventura thread perhaps, but aren't we all sick of the need for "wake up calls "? Let me explain. We started the season needing a wake up to play with the intensity required for games that actually count. And while comeback victories are nice, we seemingly need to pull our heads out of it constantly in the first few innings of every damn game, starting to play with purpose only after digging a hole. IMO, this goes directly to lack of preparedness from the staff. Too much of a pattern to be much else. The main problem is that our batters aren't tough outs against strike-throwers. We consistenly lose the pitchcount battle- it's all I pay attention to now. Foul that s*** off like crazy first time through. Piss the pitcher off. Play the GAME, not the sport.
  8. QUOTE (BamaDoc @ May 23, 2015 -> 08:49 AM) Same thing I suggested pre game after he had to come out. It is one of the things I thought Ozzie handled well, keeping guys problems small not letting them get bigger. I understand if we were last two weeks in contention but were not there. Oz was good about keeping them out a game after they said they were good to go just to protect the player from himself. I am not advocating anything re oz just an example of different style I don't think the decisions relating to the handling of Garcia are simply up to Robin. We're talking about the company ferrari here. It would be short-sighted to think RH, KW, RV & HS weren't all involved here immediately.
  9. The White Sox are absolutel geniuses with pitchers so I suspect this is just more geniusing. Nice job boys!
  10. Yawn. Cuz Herm, RV & the entire FO didn't think about that, ok.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 21, 2015 -> 08:28 AM) Source? Quotes in question?? Not sure. Just saw them a few weeks ago. I think a large portion come from some ex-staffer of some capacity. Maybe they wrote a book?
  12. Forgive me if this has been discussed, but are all these Hillary quotes true I just read somewhere? I think they came from people that worked on Clinton's staff etc. They make her sound like a horrible human being. Just looking for the real scoop on all that. Thanks, D.
  13. We should bean Brantley in retaliation for Jose getting beaned 9 times in Oakland
  14. Houston, you have a problem wasting your own time.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 19, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) Besides catcher, I actually think biggest need is a power righty set up man This. Im not pissed about 3B really. Those guys can stir. Flowers can take a dump in the punch bowl and that's about it. But it's C and he's Flo & I don't mind. So yea dude, shut down power RH setup would be top of the list. Nice point.
  16. We just might be the class of this weird division. I like that our glaring hole is just a catcher, which is a weak position anyway.
  17. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ May 19, 2015 -> 01:13 PM) I heard Boston might be interested in trading for Chris Sale I heard we're gonna get more than 1 player too.
  18. I will say that I don't think Lucroy should be our C target. I like his game but the age/injury flags might not be worth the prospects. We might just have to ride it out with this roster....ride it out right to the world series!
  19. I feel like a lot of fans are forgetting that this is still a young team with developing players. Add a bunch of vets on top of that. I get that there needs to be a gelling process, and guessing how long that would take would have been short-sighted, and assuming that wouldbe done by the end of ST would have been extremely short-sighted. These are some young ass dudes for the most part at a lot of key positions. The Jose Abreu effect is strong. Made the FO spend money and made some fans demand perfection out of the gate. This is the most fun team we've had to watch in a while. Chill out maf***as.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 18, 2015 -> 10:31 AM) I would add onto this and go a step further. I think with some guys, it was trying to do too much that was part of the issue. Absolutely. And this causes nervous men to react like children. There was a lot of hype coming into the season so a bit of frustration was warranted, but since we have such a cool-headed man at the helm, the calm fan knew it was only a matter of time. Robin is good. The players are relaxed now.
  21. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 18, 2015 -> 08:33 AM) It's incredible how ready the media is to love the Cubs. Everyone saw it coming but my god is it jarring while it happens. I googled Javy Baez after the Twitter rumors and saw all these "Baez is back" "Baez has adjusted" "Baez putting it together?" type articles. He's having a decent amount of success but he's had 72 PA's. Plus, the 72 PA's come with a .400+ BABIP in the PCL. Baseball people are getting so used to the Cubs hitting prospects being world beaters across the board so they're just trying to be ahead of the curve with Baez. His K/BB numbers have improved a lot but he's only had a SSS in his second year in the PCL. Dayan Viciedo had a .300/.350/.480 type line this time last year in the MLB. LJ Hoes is doing this in the PCL in more PAs .333/.424/.500/.924. The Cubs Craze is in full swing right now. The stats community loves Theo and the Cubs but doesn't mention the following: Bryant - 30% K%, .417 BABIP Soler - 33% K%, .419 BABIP Russell 37.4% K%, .380 BABIP When thinking about their next prospect coming up, as a Sox fan who would prefer the Cubs to lose, I am much more worried about Schwarber. What a killer that guy is. Bryant-Rizzo-Schwarber-Soler is quite a young middle of the lineup looking at next year. Yikes. The thing that bothers me most is that these hitters get to come up in the NL, and even worse, the NL Central. A place where pitchers throw soft junk, straight 92 from RH starters and where most #3 starters barely crack AL rotations. It's set up perfectly for them. It sucks.
  22. QUOTE (SCCWS @ May 18, 2015 -> 08:28 AM) We are 4 games ahead of them. If they sweep us, would that pretty much end our season???? ?????? No, we wouldn't be 12 games under .500, we'd be 4. What a comment, thanks, may God have mercy on your soul.
  23. You know we could pretty much end Cleveland's season with a 4 game sweep. Wouldn't that be tasty.
