  1. I don't care if people are dropping balls. Both balls were smashed deep. It's happening on Matt's watch every time so far and pretty soon this will reach unacceptable status with me. We gotta get the roles settled here and the only way to do that is sending Thornton out there until he proves with certainty the he can or cannot handle the role. That's 3 wins already down the toilet.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) If the problem with these guys is the "Closer's mentality", then having no defined closer will just make things worse, because no one's going to know who's taking the ball coming into the game. Or having the Closer label attached causes too much pressure. In the past all Matt had to do was get guys out and now his job is to close games. Maybe it's a pressure issue and Oz is trying to loosen up the responsibility and ease him into it...or Sale absolutely rolls with it and the problem is solved.
  3. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 01:25 PM) Petricka's final line: 6.0 IP 0 H 1 BB 9 SO I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the system's top prospect this year. Though there really isn't much competition at this point. I agree but I also think we could see a lot of the 2-3 yr guys finally click this year, Petricka included. There's a bunch of upside that could finally bust out.
  4. So when do we find out if he's not claimed, accepts the assignment etc?
  5. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) EFJ? CyJax before too long
  6. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) E.J. ARE YOU WITH ME?!?!?!?! Jackson dominates. A. Ramirez.
  7. Some positives: Sale failed. He needed this. Time to get hungry boy and earn some real cred. Beckham continues to roll. Tcq? Rios is in the game now. Floyd going deep with 1.5 pitches working. None of this will matter when we start a 25-5 run.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 09:02 PM) KC announcers commenting on the lack of Gavin's curveball tonight LOL yea I'm watching their broadcast as well. I can only think of that 1 offspeed pitch he threw for a strike to Gordon.
  9. Wow. Gordon is squaring up EVERYTHING! That was in Melky's glove in about .5 seconds. I'm ridin that horse to the fantasy playoffs.
  10. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Wake up? The offense can't wake up with all these long swings against the sinkerballer. Typical Sox Corpseball. Those short swings the first 2 days will never be seen again. Buried, burned, gone, however you like it. Shut up Jerksticks, the offense is fine.

  12. I always thought the KC radar guns were hot, but today they seem low. Aviles wouldn't have struck out so badly if it really was 90. My thoughts.
  13. Who was the first fingernails on a chalkboard? Linestink proudly carried that tradition for a while. Guess it's OhNoman's turn. That dude flings terds up there.
  14. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 10:42 AM) OK, I fully admit I'm a computer retard, I took that test and my test results were 1.95 Mbps download speed and 0.71 upload speed. Is that good enough for HD on MLB.TV? You think that's bad..I'm at .33 for each. I know it's all virus and registry BS.
  15. As far as that Proxy thing is concerned, there are definitely ways to trick the system. I went on a road trip out west in april 09 and brought my computer. When I got back it thought I lived in Colorado for the rest of the season so I got every Sox game. Maybe try driving to somewhere in Michigan and get into Tiger Country with your laptop and connect to somebody's Wifi. Maybe change your home zip while you are out there. It definitely works just not sure how to do it.
  16. This is my second time getting it.. had it in 09 as well and loved it. All the videos are choppy right now but I don't remember it being like this back then. So either they are working the kinks out for the first few weeks or it has something to do with all the different porn viruses fighting for control of my computer. I think I have a pretty good connection in this house I'm renting but I wouldn't know how to check. I really think it has to do with porn virus. If any computer guys read this and would like to offer a bit of assistance I'd most appreciate a PM (I'm running AVGfree and Spybot). Sorry for the half hijack. Get the premium, it's good.
  17. We gotta DRose those Indians tmrw..put away the trash and let them think about the trash that they are. Then 4-0 is lookin pretty tasty against whoever KC's #4 is; I'm sure he's trash as well. Man I love being top sports town.
  18. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 1, 2011 -> 05:22 PM) Great first game. Ohman, Pena and Lillibridge suck. Nothing we didn't already know! At least Pena can wildly throw it by people sometimes. Ohman wow. 89?
  19. Aside from OhNoman Implosion this was pretty durn tasty!
  20. Another 6-0 OD spanking! Bat Flips, Donkeys, Lose Your Love
  21. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 30, 2011 -> 01:54 PM) Just to clarify, I don´t expect KW to win every single trade, or to select every prospect that pans out or turns into a stud. I just believe that this team would have had much better results since 2005 if they had been drafting better, and even though they are doing a better job, they still have a huge room for improvement. Some people may think I am just nitpicking or finding something to complain about, but I see this as a legitimate reason for why the Sox have not strung consecutive good seasons together. Maybe I am spoiled since Im only 21, but I want the Sox to succeed year in and year out, and this is a good way to help with that. Dude but they have for 10 years now! It's hard to draft can't miss guys when you finish above .500 every single year. The one year we didn't finish around .500 we got Beckham! Since they changed their drafting philosophy we've picked Poreda, Beckham, Mitchell and Sale. Would you rather be worrying about Rick Porcello and Clay Richard this year than have Peavy? I mean that was the big gripe at the time, taking Poreda over Porcello. We basically gave the Pads nothing for Peavy. I'm ok with how the drafting has been going the last few years; we just gotta wait for the fruits to ripen some more. It's also very possible that after this year our system looks stacked again. Guys develop out of nowhere.
  22. Even if Buehrle declines a bit more he's still the best #4-5 out there, or at least WAY above average. It's just that moving forward the current cost would be too much. Another 3 years of Buehrle at 10-11M is a good deal to me. Plus he's our boy and does amazing things. How cool would it be if he pitched on the Sox for 20 years? Legendary.
