Let’s all try to remember that whining, complaining and especially blaming are things a grown man just doesn’t do. Ever. That’s the line that’s constantly crossed on here and it’s ridiculous. None of us cool cats need to say “I told ya so.” We don’t need credit or apologies, because we been cool about it. Bish be cool. Rule #1

Awesome. Looks like supreme talent is starting to have effects on games. Weird.
-
Are you kidding. Dude is ready for 250
-
No reason to be mad or upset obviously, but man, definitely feel like TLR messed that one up. The body language was bad for a while.
-
Lol well said. Not even close
-
Correct. People forget most teams don’t have one of the top players in the league at pretty much every position, 1-26. This team is beyond stacked and it’s only year 1. The bullpen blew some leads and the little kids are whining ?.

Welcome to the light ?

Hell yea man! I think we’ll have to wait a week for all the trashers to come out of hiding and admit maybe this is a freakin Badass team on a bullet train to the playoffs. They need to hide for another week of winning though and hope TLR makes a bad bullpen decision or Madrigal boots a ball in his 45th career game so they can say “AHA! JR sucks no depth! TLR old drunk! TLR hates analytics- game passed him by! Madrigal picked at #4...HMPH!!! Abreu showing his age! Grandal useless! But the small sample size of Dane Dunning is conclusive!”

So much. So many smart people

That’s a Nicky Two Strikes Winner!!

It’s weird how fans have the gall to think they know baseball at a higher level than ANYBODY actually in the sport. What, because you read fangraphs? Did you go to bref and look at splits? Lol -
It’s not like anybody needs to maybe say “sorry I may have overreacted on TLR for not using Kopech”

Lol nobody. It was great to hear Benetti call him MCM tonight too -
Best decade of Sox baseball is all but guaranteed before it even starts. IMO this 2021 team WITH Eloy would have been the best Sox team ever by a mile. I think now it will be close but still end up being the best. And this is just the first year- still too many young guys for this to be the peak. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think the 2020s Sox run will be the best assembly of talent the game has ever seen. and the Padres. Lol. Just watch. You’ll see
-
Yes OP. Yes. This is all I’ve been saying forever now. People have no idea the historic level of talent we have on the team and in the minors. They get mad about the bullpen blowing some leads, a TLR decision, or Madrigal having no power. Totally missing the forest for the early sapling trees of 2021. It’s ridiculous. Everybody already changing their tunes after a decent few games. Wait until the Sox win 15 out of 20, 30 out of 40 etc. This run of White Sox baseball will be the best dynasty in the history of the game and it won’t be close.
-
Lol. I dunno seems like a coin flip outcome for a guy who threw like 10 starts in AA before blowing out for TJ and sitting on the shelf for a year. A guy who obviously won’t throw many innings this year. Remember when Kopech was checking the boxes in AAA before coming up and had that nice run of AAA dominance? Yea, Dunning didn’t do any of that...and it’s not because he was too good for AAA ? Lol lucky Sox catching him on a bad day. Whew.
-
I’m blacked out where I live. I wanted to see Dunning get obviously lit up so bad. What did it look like? Did it look like a super old prospect without a top pedigree and without top or even semi-dominant stuff getting shelled?
-
Why apply a stat to Madrigal that is 50% composed of slugging, a thing he doesn’t do? That’s simply madness. While I do think Madrigal will eventually start slugging way more than people think (extra bases not so much homers), I’m not going to see where his ISO, fly ball and launch angles rank amongst second basemen. Buehrle didn’t strike people out- did he suck?
-
Na his floor is this weak-hitting crap defender who doesn’t really do anything well except not strikeout much. A very likely outcome. His ceiling is a guy who hits close to .400 with OBPs easily over .400 while also never striking out. He was drafted at 4 because he has a potentially once in a lifetime skill set of placing hits wherever he wants in a special way nobody else can. A very possible outcome as well. Lol you think the Sox drafted him because they wanted a shitty, replaceable player at 2B guaranteed? They drafted him because there’s a realistic chance he has a skill nobody else has. If he doesn’t convert on that skill he’s garbage. It was a Hail Mary super ballsy pick for sure.
-
For sure. But it’s just because his ceiling is so much higher than anybody else they could have picked there.
-
I don’t think OPS has anything to do with Madrigal’s game or contributions. It should never be used in evaluating him or comparing him to others. Just my .02
-
That’s everyone’s obvious issue and thought with it though.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX SWEEP OF THE DH BACK TO .500

? people are going to start coming around fast. We’re looking at a historically good team even without Eloy. -

The 3-batter rule is the one of my favorite things MLB has ever done. Finally real strategy with real consequences. -
