I miss watching Paulie redo his gloves and spit in his hands

Wait until this minor league season reveals the ridiculous depth of prospects we have brewing with nowhere to play. Trade for DeGrom? Sure.
-
We are not trading Eloy. Mercy. Part of me now has no problem rolling with an outfield/DH of Robert, Vaughn, Eloy & Yermin. Can’t believe I’m okay with that but who cares when we’re scoring 19 runs a game and have all ace pitchers and a lockdown bullpen. Oh no Vaughn misplayed that one! Guess we’ll have to score 9 runs again next inning ?

The catcher’s mitt was Dunning’s face all night to me

Royals vs Sox 5:20pm Home Opener GT
Jerksticks replied to Ducksnort's topic in 2021 Season in Review
I bet this is still a top 5 offense at the end of the year, even without Eloy. You talk like it’s bottom half which just doesn’t seem possible -
Struck him out with 91 mph FB

I was thinking today that Giolito, Lynn & Keuchel should combine for 180IP x3. Maybe Keuchel goes a bit under, Lynn a bit over and Gio right on it. These are 180x3 super competitive innings. So to get 180x2 competitive innings out of our #4 & #5 slots, we have about 90IP for each of Kopech, Rodon, Cease & Crochet. This is guessing Cease will probably go quite a bit over 90 and Crochet quite a bit under, and Rodon/Kopech each around 100, conservatively. Now it takes us 7 guys to get those 5 SP slots to 180, but I’m guessing this crushes the depth of most teams. Anybody have any idea what other teams realistically have to do to get 900-1000 very competitive SP innings?
-
We know it’s about 60? Dang I thought both might hit 100 or so
-
Man there is just no way I want Robert getting the 2nd most ABs on the team right now.
-
I can’t imagine what that slider is like when you’re in the box. The swings Carlos induces....man.

This totally. What people always forget is that the truly great pitchers are great even with their worst stuff, and unhittable with their good stuff. Everyone else in MLB is great with their good stuff and has to battle through their worst stuff. The degree of battle is different with everybody.

This just isn’t true at all. There’s really no connection here. Admit that you just caulfielded this out of your caulfield

Great story but what if he goes 0 for his next 15?

We have a really good team. This bullpen...holy shit

What we learned from Opening Day
Jerksticks replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is all possible for sure. It’s going to be one of the main things to follow this year for sure. I think we’ll know one way or another THIS year whether or not Madrigal has some special ability to find holes and gaps at an elite rate. The Sox should hire somebody whose only job is to sit in the dugout and punch Madrigal in the face if he hits a fly ball to the outfield. -

I didn’t check out the game thread yet. Let’s see...”Madrigal sucks, Leury batting 6th, WTF is Eaton doing hitting 2nd...oh wait...well I mean cool he basically won the game with that homer but still, WTF pulling Gio for Heuer look at what’s happening...oh wait well TLR got lucky there, F this TLR didn’t teach them any defensive discipline in ST, JERRYYYY FU!!!!!!” That about right? That 8th defensively was brutal. Unlucky to start and then Madrigal woof. Clean it up boys. -
Holy crap dude I just found out reading your post. This is crazy!
-
So you are putting the odds of Dunning going 160 this year over zero? Interesting and in the spirit of the thread for sure ?
-
Sox win at least 105 games Jose Abreu has a better season than last year in like all categories and wins unanimous MVP. Dane Dunning is exposed as pure trash and not even a viable 5th starter option for any team outside of the Pirates and nobody admits that maybe I was right that the Sox goal of the offseason was to sell high on Dunning.

These are correct words -

But how do we know this is true? All indications are Joc wanted to play everyday. Maybe Hahn wanted him in more of a platoon role -
Wait LaStella was comfortable just being a depth guy?

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
Jerksticks replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I’ve had this sneaking suspicion the last few months that Micker is super close to being ready if not ready. But that’s based on hope and sneaking suspicion...which means jack. But that would be super cool if Micker could rock it and then take over for Eaton next year -
